Five Ways to Make the Most of Your Club

M.A.C. West, spinning classes and the Sportsman's Club are all things that you, as a member, know and love. What you may not realize is that these things are available because of you.

The Club's tax status as a private club prohibits "direct advertising." This means the M.A.C. cannot post billboards or newspaper ads that sell membership, hotel rooms or catering services. This is why we need you. Here's five ways to make the most of your Club.

1. Introduce a Friend to the Club

The Club must add revenue in order to provide and improve the services that you've come to depend on. This is why it's so important to us to maintain and keep the number of M.A.C. members growing. However, we need you to help us keep the community interested in our Club.

As a member you can reach out into your community and continue to build the M.A.C. family. Tell a friend, business associate or family member about how much you use the M.A.C. Invite them to lunch at the Sportsman's Club or take them a Fox Theatre outing. Encourage them to come down to the Club and take a tour.

The Membership staff is always happy to hear from you with recommendations for new members. Call John Standbrook for a tour of the Downtown Clubhouse, 314-539-4465, or contact West Membership Executive Julie Kueper, 314-539-4408, to see M.A.C. West.

2. Make Some Room ... Reservations

Do your out-of-town guests a favor; book them a room at the M.A.C. Whether you are hosting business or personal guests, be a host to them in your home away from home ... the Club. Dine with them in the Downtown restaurants or grab a drink at one of the bars.

Booking guests a room at the M.A.C. not only saves your out-of-town company the trouble of locating a hotel, but you can rest assured they are receiving top service and quality rooms.

4. Bring in the Business

The next time you have clients to impress, woo them over a meal in the Rendezvous Room. Provide out-of-town clients with a luxurious hotel room with unmatched service in an ideal location. Or, if the business meetings are getting repetitive, try planning your next meeting at the Club. Good food and an elegant atmosphere will get all brains churning out fresh ideas. No matter what the occasion, the M.A.C. is the best place to bring business.
5. Activate Yourself in Activities

Social, dining and athletic benefits are wonderful aspects of the Missouri Athletic Club, but if this is all you're using the Club for, you're missing an entire side of the Club. Along with traditional athletic activities, such as fitness classes and basketball leagues, the M.A.C. has Clubs within the Club (CWC) for every interest.

CWCs give you, the member, an instant way to form bonds with other people in the M.A.C. community. Whether you're interested in singing for the Apollos, shopping with the Red Hatters or riding your motorcycle with the Thunderbirds, there's a CWC for everybody. If the activity you're interested in is not already a club, your suggestions are wanted. Call Courtney Kranz at 314-539-4402 or e-mail her at ckranz@mac-stl.org.
