Punch it up at the M.A.C. Boxing Championships

Round up your buddies and prepare yourselves for a trip back in time, when boxing matches were the most exciting way to pass a Friday night. Sip on cocktails, puff on cigars and sit on the edge of your seat as boxers punch, hit and eventually go down.

On Thursday, Feb. 9, boxers from the St. Louis Metro Boxing Club will square off in the ring at the First Annual M.A.C. Boxing Championships. Rediscover the excitement of boxing as Metro Club fighters compete against ranked opponents in various weight divisions. There will be a female bout as well.

Gear Up for the 2006 Tennis Championships

The Tennis Club Championships, like last year, will be held over a period of several weeks with a little more time given for your first round matches before the finals are to be played. We had 85 participants last year and expect more for 2006!

We have broadened the opportunity to play by adding a few more levels in most events. In this way everyone can be competitive and will certainly enjoy their matches more. If you are the more competitive type, you can always play up a level because you may enter as many as four events!

Smooth Path to a New Body
Try True Pilates for a great workout
Try True Pilates and "You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions and have a completely new body in 30 sessions," according to its founder, Joseph Pilates.

If this sounds like a good way to kick off your New Year's weight-loss goals, enroll in M.A.C. West's True Pilates class. Chances are, you'll become obsessed with the popular, new exercise. After all, it focuses on your "powerhouse," a part of the body most people want to sculpt: the abdominals, buttocks, back and thigh muscles. By completing a series of repetitive exercise, Pilates draws strength from the "powerhouse" and builds on additional muscle. This helps support the rest of the muscles in the skeletal system. Joseph Pilates invented the system of exercise to improve posture, balance, flexibility and grace through alignment of the body, stretching and strengthening. Some use the Pilates method to tone their bodies, while others use it to heal from injuries.
