An American Cookbook: The Kelly Twins
Mexican, Chinese and sushi are popular ethnic cuisines. American food is a term rarely used in the U.S., and when used, it generally brings forth images of hamburgers and pizza.

Margaret and Bridget Kelly, known as the "Kelly Twins," bring an entirely new meaning to the meaning of American food. They are dedicated to our national and regional heritage of cooking and want to help you get back to the basics. Join the Kelly Twins at the M.A.C. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 for a little homegrown advice ... and some dinner.

The Kelly Twins want to teach real people to cook real food that's easy to make.
The twins specialize in emphasizing a down-to-earth approach on cooking.
As the last two children of a family of 11, nourishing, easy-to-make food is their cooking philosophy. Raised on a Missouri farm, they also focus on incorporating local food products into their specialty dishes.
The twins support sustainable cuisine, local farmers and regional food products. The twins will teach you to make the best use of local ingredients while maintaining a focus on integrity, family and food that nourishes the body and soul.

These lessons, along with field trips to local farmers, wine makers and other local food producers, are regularly featured on their St. Louis-based cooking show, “Twice Baked.” The cooking show is in its fourth season of production and airs daily on Charter Communications’ CCIN at 9:30 a.m.

To learn more about these close-to-home philosophies, join the Kelly Twins at the Missouri Athletic Club for a delicious demonstration with a tasty meal to follow.
