Perform.
Don't Compromise.
Charles F. Knight reveals the book he went by

In 1973, Charles F. Knight was named CEO of Emerson. As the new man in charge, he had a lot to live up to. W.R. "Buck" Persons, Emerson's former CEO, had exponentially expanded the company's markets, labor force and facilities. Under Knight, Emerson became more than a stable manufacturing plant; it evolved into a global enterprise.

Knight has since retired from his position as CEO of Emerson, but he has not slowed down. On Thursday, Jan. 26, Knight is coming to the Missouri Athletic Club to reveal some of his secrets, eat some lunch and sign his new book, “Performance Without Compromise: How Emerson Consistently Achieves Winning Results."

Emerson has been so successful that corporations, management consultants and business schools benchmark the company's management process as a best-practice model. Naturally, Knight has been probed for years, but his secrets have remained behind a secret veil. With his new book, the important business insights are finally out.

During Knight's 27 years as CEO of Emerson, based in St. Louis, the company transformed from a domestic manufacturer to a global technology solutions powerhouse. Emerson’s sales rose more than 16-fold to over $15 billion, and net earnings increased 18-fold to more than $1.4 billion. Emerson has achieved 43 consecutive years of increased earnings and earnings per share, among the longest records of consistent performance among U.S. businesses. What began in 1890 as a manufacturer of electric motors and fans is now a global leader in technology solutions.

If 43 consecutive years of increased earnings and earnings per share sounds like a recipe for your company's success, join the M.A.C. in welcoming Charles F. Knight to the Club
on Thursday, Jan. 26.

This event is brought to you by the M.A.C. Book Club and the Breakfast Club
