Deadline to Sign up for 2006 Adult Tennis Club Championships is Approaching


Calling all tennis players.
Don't miss the chance to test your skills and possibly become a champion. Sign up for the 2006 Adult Tennis Club Championships by Wednesday, Feb. 8, for a chance to compete and have fun.

The championships will be held throughout the next few months: Monday, Feb. 13 to Saturday, May 6. Draws will be made on Saturday, Feb. 11. On the last day, May 6, the Club will host the finals and third and fourth playoffs. The games will be accompanied with hors d’oeuvres and an awards dinner.

Entry Fees

One event - $35
Two events - $50
Three events - $65

Awards Dinner Prices
$25 if not entered in the tournament
$15 for kids 12 and under

Playing Guidelines:
NOTE: All Finals played on Saturday, May 6, 2006.

* Players are responsible for scheduling their own matches, but one of the M.A.C.’s tennis professionals will be assigned to each draw to help assure that matches for each round are played within a certain time frame. Please arrange your first round matches promptly!
* A list of player contact numbers is available at the front desk.
* The draws are posted in the Club near the front desk.
* You must contact your opponent(s) to arrange an agreeable time for your match(es).
* Depending on the size of each draw, you have generally two to three weeks to complete each round.
* There is no charge for court time when you are playing a tournament match.
* Finalists must be available to play on Saturday, May 6, 2006.

To book a court for a match:
*Call the West Pro Shop desk at 314-539-4444 any time before your match and give them you and your opponent’s name along with the event for which you are playing your match.
*You may book a court for up to two hours. If your match takes longer than this, that court or another one may be open for further play, or you may need to reschedule at another time in order to complete your match.

Scoring:

* Best two-out-of-three sets.
* Add scoring in games.
* 12-point tie-breaker to be played if game score reaches 6-all in any set.

During a match:

* The rules set forth by the USTA for Rules of Play and code of conduct shall apply. If there is a question regarding a ruling while you are on court, you may ask a pro to assist or contact the Pro Shop personnel who will contact a pro to resolve the rule in question.

After a match:

* Report your score at the pro shop desk.
* If your opponent(s) for the next round are known, then it is your responsibility to contact them.
