Make Memories
Food Network host to give tips on successful family dinners
|
Escarole soup, Muffulettas and other Italian delicacies have been the backdrop of some of Giada De Laurentiis’ warmest memories. To her, some of the best times of her life have been spent sitting at the table with her family, passing dishes of delicious food and laughing over old times. Because family dinners have been such a magnificent centerpiece to her life, De Laurentiis, host of the Food Network hit Everyday Italian, wants to extend these warm memories with M.A.C. families.
A year ago, more than 200 members came to the Club for a heartwarming meal and to learn Giada’s cuisine secrets. On Thursday, April 13, she will return to the M.A.C. to share cooking stories, feast on an Italian meal and talk about her new book, Giada’s Family Dinners. She will give cookbooks away to 10 lucky members, and additional copies will be available at a 25 percent discount.
Giada’s Family Dinners, the famous chef’s second cookbook, features fun family meals and photographs of Giada’s many memories around the table. Her love for cooking was born at the family dinner table, where she learned to prepare beloved recipes. After moving from Rome to Los Angeles when she was 7, her family continued their Italian heritage in America with frequent gatherings.
After attending school at the famed Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France, Giada became a professional chef. Upon returning to California, she worked in several Los Angeles restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, before starting her own business, GDL.
Learn Giada’s secrets behind a successful family meal: easy, no-fuss recipes that fill both the stomach and the soul. This scrumptious event, sponsored by the Culinary Club, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Missouri Room. For only $65, share Giada’s cooking secrets, dine on a meal using one of her recipes, sip red and white wine and earn a chance to win one of her new cookbooks. Reservations are required. Please call 539-4470 to save your spot today. |
