won't Stop

M.A.C. West adds two Hip Hop classes to its class schedule

othing motivates a person to work out more than loud, fast-paced music. Mix in funky dance moves, and you have the ultimate fitness class.

By integrating catchy music and innovative dance steps, Instructor Michelle McDonald's Hip Hop class has been a huge success at M.A.C. West. Now, in addition to her Tuesday 11 a.m. class, McDonald is adding two later classes on Mondays and Tuesdays at 4 p.m.

The afternoon classes are ideal for anyone looking for a fun workout after work or school. Hip hop is a great way to work out, burn calories and tone the whole body, all while listening to great tunes and learning some cool, new moves.

This class is a fun way to give people of all ages a great workout. Hip hop is actually an infusion of international dance forms combined into one high-energy jive. Dictated by the music's beats, hip hop integrates funky steps into one smooth rhythm. Hip hop's roots come from such diverse influences as Afro-Cuban, salsa, African and North American dances.

Instructor Michelle McDonald, a certified personal trainer and former NIPFL cheerleader, will teach the basic structure of the urban dance style. However, creativity is important to the dance form, and McDonald encourages participants to color each move with their personal flavor.

Date: Mondays & Tuesday (starting Monday, May 1)
Time: 4 p.m.
Instructor: Michelle McDonald
