Father-Daughter Dance Celebrates its 60th Birthday
Every spring, Club daughters choose the perfect dress, fix their hair just right and join their fathers for a special evening at the Club. For 60 years, M.A.C. fathers have treated their daughters to dinner, dancing and great entertainment at the annual Father-Daughter Dance.
The
tradition continues this year at the downtown clubhouse on Wednesday, May 24, at 5:30 p.m. Carriage rides, father-daughter pictures, dinner and dancing will be the highlights of the evening. Festivities will end around 10 p.m.

Laugh, Sing and Eat at the Apollos Recruiting Party
On Monday, May 15, the Apollos are hosting a recruiting party at 6 p.m. on the 10th Floor Apollo/Reading Room. All members are welcome to sample light hors d’oevres and other refreshments.
This is a casual evening designed to introduce prospective members to the Apollos, share some laughs and maybe sing a song or two. Attendees can expect a taste of the fun, history and fellowship that comes with being an Apollo. New M.A.C. members and former Apollos are especially encouraged to attend this fun event. If interested, stop by the club tonight or contact Tom Albus, president of the Apollos, at 539-6856. |
Dr. Dolittle,
a Musical for Everyone

|
Show your kids how to have fun outside of DVDs, video games and interactive toys. Head to the Fox Theatre for Dr. Dolittle the musical on Thursday, May 25.
Dr. Dolittle is a glorious fairytale that makes an effective connection between children and animals. Ann Hould-Ward (The Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods) designed costumes that actually capture the souls of the animals. Based on the original books' (by Hugh Lofting) illustrations, Ward created different styles of puppetry to imitate the drawings. Actors playing fully realized animals, hand puppets, marionettes and enormous flying animals give the theatre a magical touch.
