How to Spend Fourth of July at the M.A.C.
The nation's birthday is two weeks away, and chances are, you're making plans for the holiday. From fireworks to pool parties, the M.A.C. is hosting a little bit of everyone's favorite Fourth of July activities. With Fair St. Louis and the VP Parade at the downtown location and a pool party at West, there's something for everyone at this year's Fourth of July celebration.
Follow the comprehensive guide below to plan a great Fourth of July celebration.
Step 1: Head to the VP Parade on Saturday, July 1
The Veiled Prophet Parade began in 1878 and today attracts hundreds of thousands of people. Every year, the parade passes right by the downtown clubhouse. This year, the festivities will begin at 10 a.m. Bleachers will be placed on the north side of Washington Ave., west of the Valet parking entrance. Only M.A.C. members and their guests will be able to sit on the bleachers.
When nightfall hits, the M.A.C. roof will open a half hour before fireworks begin and close immediately after the display. The fireworks are scheduled at 9:30 p.m.
Don't miss this patriotic parade,
complete with hundreds of professionally designed floats. This year's parade theme is “Lettuce Entertain You,” a light-hearted tribute to the tradition of entertainment that has marched through the 129 years of Veiled Prophet parades.

NOTE: Members and guests are required to wear a wristband on the day of the VP Parade. Wristbands are now available at the downtown Front Desk. Members can get eight wristbands in advance and additional wristbands can be obtained the day of the parade.
