Parting Shots

Bill Schmidt competes in the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon on Sunday, June 4. The race began with a 8 a.m. plunge into the icy 55 degree waters of San Francisco Bay. Schmidt along with 1,800 other triathletes, faced strong currents before completing a 18-mile bike ride and a eight-mile run.
