Something to Cheer About
M.A.C. West hosts a morning cheer clinic on Thursday, July 20

Young cheerleaders who want to make the squad or are looking for new stunts, are invited to attend a cheer clinic on Thursday, July 20. Cynthia Flatt, an assistant cheerleading coach for the University of Missouri all-girl squad, will teach the morning clinic at M.A.C. West. From 9 a.m. to noon, attendees will learn new motions, jumps, stunts and cheers. The cheerleaders will then put everything they learned together and stage a final performance.

Cynthia is a 2000 graduate of Parkway Central where she cheered for 4 years and led the squad to a state title. She then cheered for four years at the University of Missouri on both the all-girl and co-ed squads. This provided the opportunity for traveling to various football and men's basketball games, while representing the University of Missouri. Her squad also placed 7th, 9th, and 10th in the National Cheerleading Association's national competition. Cynthia is now a teacher in the Columbia School District, and continues to be active in the sport as an assistant cheerleading coach for the University of Missouri all-girl squad.

The clinic costs $15 for members and $20 for members' guests. For reservations, please call Tim Kelley at 314-539-4476.
