Mind Their Manners
Enroll your child in the Children's Etiquette Class
Social skills are important in all aspects of your child’s life from the playground to the classroom to the workplace. Teach your children how to behave properly in social situations by enrolling them in the M.A.C.'s etiquette classes this fall.

The M.A.C.'s etiquette classes will reinforce your goal to teach your children the good manners they'll need for home and in various social settings. Manners are an ageless skill. Children who learn good manners at a young age will handle situations with grace, kindness and intelligence for the rest of their lives. Basic etiquette can foster a healthy self-esteem, help communications skills and improve everyday interactions.

Barbara Buck, president of The Art of Etiquette, will be at the Club to teach a fun, hands-on etiquette course in September. She teaches at other private clubs and Dillards in St. Louis. Class topics include pose and posture, conversation and friendship skills, table manners and public speaking.

Buck's four-week class will be broken into two groups: first to third grade and fourth to sixth grade. Both groups will meet on Sundays, beginning Sept. 17. The younger kids will meet from 2 to 3 p.m., and the older class will meet from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. All lessons will be held in the Banquet Room at M.A.C. West, except the final graduation class on Sunday, Oct. 8. This will be at 3 p.m., in downtown’s Crystal Room. Price is $100 per child and includes class instruction, an etiquette kit and graduation dinner.
