Escape from the dog days of summer at the M.A.C. This week the Club has three "cool" events to refresh you during these hot summer days. Help the kids stay cool in the pool with a four-day synchronized swimming clinic on Tuesday and Thursday of this week and next week. For the adults, this weekend the M.A.C. is hosting the hottest poolside party of the year at West. If you're looking for some theatre action, don't miss Oliver! at the Muny.

at a Synchronized Swimming Clinic
Tuesday, August 1 ... Thursday, August 3
The Clayton Shaw Swim Team will hold an exclusive synchronized swimming clinic at M.A.C. West on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August: Aug. 1, 3, 8 and 10. From 8 to 10 a.m., participants will learn the beauty of the sport. As well as increasing physical strength, synchronized swimmers also experience increased self-confidence, responsibility, good sportsmanship and teamwork. It not only introduces kids to a new and different sport, it also opens them up to new friendships and adventures. The clinic will cost $25 for members and $40 for members' guests. For more information or to register, please call Tim Kelley at 314-539-4476.

to the Muny
Saturday, August 1
Experience this musical, based on the book by Charles Dickens, at the nation's oldest and largest outdoor theatre. First published as a serial in 1838, Oliver Twist is a story of an orphan born in a workhouse who has no idea of his parents' identity. Using sarcasm and dark humor, Oliver Twist reveals the hypocrisies of the time. The evening begins at M.A.C. West at 5:45 p.m., with a limited dinner menu. A shuttle leaves for Forest Park at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8:15 p.m. Price is $75, inclusive, per person. Call Courtney at 314-539-4402 to make reservations. Don't miss this story with a twist, Oliver!
