The Associates
Mount Pleasant Winery Trip
|
Explore the heart of Missouri’s wine country with the M.A.C. Associates on Saturday, Oct. 21. Discover the historic Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta, Mo., sip unique wines and enjoy the scenery among the bluffs of the Missouri River.
This event solves the biggest problem with a winery trip: how to get home safely. The outing includes round trip transportation, as well as beer, soda and water on the bus. Members will leave for Augusta from M.A.C. West at 10 a.m. and depart from the winery at 5 p.m.
Mount Pleasant Winery has a long history of providing fine wines. George Munch, a German immigrant, founded the winery in 1859. He chose Augusta, America’s first designated wine district, as the spot for his winery because the area reminded him of his homeland. The winery closed in 1920 due to Prohibition and reopened in 1966. Today, Mount Pleasant grows 16 grape varieties on 85 acres.
This unique event offers an opportunity for Associates to enjoy the beauty of Mount Pleasant Winery and network with their M.A.C. peers. The cost is $30, inclusive, per person, and an additional $5 cover charge will be paid by all members at the door. Price includes transportation, refreshments on the bus and reserved seating at the winery. Members can bring their own food and snacks and/or can purchase food at the winery. Casual dress/jeans are acceptable. To make reservations, please call Courtney at 539-4402. Space is extremely limited, so make reservations soon! |
