Catch the Reggie Thomas Trio in the Jack Buck Grille
On Friday, Sept. 29, the Reggie Thomas Trio will create a jazz fusion at the Missouri Athletic Club with their unique blend of jazz piano, gospel and blues.
The Reggie Thomas Trio plays a variety of music including some of Reggie Thomas' original pieces. The trio's inspiration comes from artists like Herbie Handcock, Joe Sample, Chic Corea and Fats Waller.

Survey Winners Announced
The Missouri Athletic Club would like to thank all of those who filled out the Member/Spouse Survey. There was an overwhelming response from you, the members. The Board of Governors is currently reviewing the surveys and will use your input to focus their efforts on the right priorities in the future.

In the meantime, President Rick Lodewyck and Governor Justin Williamson randomly drew five names for $100 dining certificates on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Missouri Athletic Club Hosts the 2006 Gateway Open

On Sept. 9 to 10, M.A.C. West hosted the third annual Gateway Open. The basketball court was "made over" into a table tennis venue with 12 competition tables and dividers. The nationally-sanctioned event drew more than 120 male and female players of all ages from around the Midwest. The events included Open, Rated, Junior age brackets, Women's Singles, 60 and Over and Novice. Several first-time M.A.C. members competed in the Novice event. Andrew Louvier of the M.A.C. took home three trophies by finishing 2nd in the Class A, 2nd in the Under-2000 Rated and 1st in the Under-18 events.

M.A.C. Stogie Club Cigar Tasting and Happy Hour
The M.A.C. Stogie Club is hosting a cigar tasting and happy hour on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Sportsman's Club. Enjoy complimentary cigars, including Davidoff stogies, two complimentary draft beers, lavish hors d'oeuvres and free parking for only $18.50 + gratuity for members and $20.50 + gratuity for non-members. Raffle tickets will be provided for great prizes from the Downtown Pro Shop. For reservations, please call 314-539-4470.
Oktoberfest Family Meals
You don’t have to drive to Hermann to celebrate Oktoberfest in Missouri. The Jack Buck Grille is featuring special family style meals to commemorate the almost 200-year-old German event. From Monday, Oct. 16, to Friday, Oct. 27, head to the JBG with friends and family for a gigantic German meal. Experience the camaraderie and fellowship of Oktoberfest by feasting on bowls of mashed potatoes, platters of deviled eggs and entrees of smoked pork. Side dishes and appetizers are all-you-can-eat. Associates Mount Pleasant Winery Trip Explore the historic Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta, Mo., with the M.A.C. Associates on Saturday, Oct. 21. The cost is $30, inclusive, per person, and an additional $5 cover charge will be paid by all members at the door. Price includes round-trip transportation, refreshments on the bus and reserved seating at the winery. Members will leave for Augusta from M.A.C. West at 10 a.m. and depart from the winery at 5 p.m. To make reservations, please call Courtney at 539-4402.

Refurbished Business Centers The M.A.C. has added some amenities to the business centers in the basement of the Downtown Clubhouse. The business offices have the following equipment: 2.8 ghz Pentium 4 computer with 19" LCD flat screen monitor, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, a Hewlett Packard 6310 printer, copier, fax and scanner. Give the business centers a try by asking the Downtown Front Desk for a key. There is no charge.

Nominate 2007 Charities for the M.A.C. Charitable Society The M.A.C. Charitable Society is looking for charities for 2007! Charities must be nominated by an M.A.C. member or their family member. The charity must be non-denominational, related to children/families and St. Louis based. Nominations must be received by Nov. 1, 2006.
