Mardra and the Reggie Thomas Trio From Sonny and Cher to Mates of State, husband-wife musical groups know how to capture an audience. On Friday, Oct. 27, a husband-wife team will take over the Jack Buck Grille. Reggie Thomas will play the keyboard and his wife Mardra will accompany him with bluesy jazz vocals reminiscent of Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan. The couple will most likely play selections from their recent CD, “Fade to Blue” on the MaxJazz label.
Salute America's Veterans Without the brave soldiers who have fought for this country, America would not be what it is today. Show your gratitude for the courageous men and women who have stood on the front line for the United States at the 2006 Veteran’s Day Commemoration on Friday, Nov. 10. This annual celebration will feature special guest speakers, a luncheon, entertainment and a cash bar. The M.A.C. Veteran’s Day celebration begins at 11:15 a.m. with military exhibits and a cash bar in the Eads Room. The luncheon will begin at noon in the Missouri Room, and the program starts at 12:30 p.m.
Lights, Camera, Action! Portions of Downtown Clubhouse to be closed because of filming of a new movie This isn't the first time a movie has been shot in the Downtown Clubhouse. As many remember, in 2003 a scene from The Game of Their Lives was shot in the Missouri Room. This time, the M.A.C. has again earned a role in Stillwater, a new Hollywood movie. Filming will take place two days this week, Thursday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Oct. 27. Please note the following portions of the Downtown Clubhouse will be closed due to filming. The M.A.C. apologizes for any inconvenience these closings may cause.
Start off on the Right Foot Welcome the holidays with a Dinner Dance This year, get the season kicked off right, with a M.A.C. Dinner Dance. Whether you took ballroom dance classes this fall or just feel like showing off your moves, make plans now to attend the M.A.C. Dinner Dance on Friday, Nov. 10. The evening begins with a cocktail reception (cash bar) at 6:30 p.m. From 7 to 8 p.m., a three-course dinner will be served and from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. members can dance to the music of Chasers Fore. Price is $32.50, inclusive, for Dinner Dance Club members and $39, inclusive, for non-members.

Here's Something Spooky: Trunk-R-Treat Deadline is Today This Halloween, the M.A.C is giving out the best treat of all: the first annual "Trunk-R-Treat." This spooktacular event, hosted by M.A.C. Families, will take place from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, at M.A.C. West. If you haven't already signed up, do so now by calling Joan at 539-4490. The last day to register for this event is today, Monday, Oct. 23.
Downtown Yoga Class Starts on Nov. 13 The new yoga session will begin Monday, Nov. 13. The class will be held from noon to 1 p.m. every Monday. The eight-week session is only $50.
