Husband-Wife Team, Mardra and the Reggie Thomas Trio
From Sonny and Cher to Mates of State, husband-wife musical groups know how to capture an audience. On Friday, Oct. 27, a husband-wife team will take over the Jack Buck Grille. Reggie Thomas will play the keyboard and his wife Mardra will accompany him with bluesy jazz vocals reminiscent of Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan.

The couple will most likely play selections from their recent CD, “Fade to Blue” on the MaxJazz label. Along with playing together, both Reggie and Mardra have established musical careers separately as well. Mardra has performed on the “Jazz at The Sheldon” series at the St. Louis Jazz Festival and at concert halls and clubs around the country. Reggie, a music professor, has been playing with his current band, the Reggie Thomas Trio, for about five years. The Reggie Thomas Trio plays a variety of music including some of Reggie Thomas' original pieces. The trio played at M.A.C. Jazz Nights earlier in the series.

Throughout September and October the M.A.C. will combine food and drink specials with a live performance to create an ideal evening. M.A.C. Jazz Nights are offered from 7 to 10 p.m. Call 314-539-4417 for reservations. Look to future Buffets for more information about each performer.
