M.A.C. Hermann Trophy Finalists Announced The Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy is the highest individual honor in intercollegiate soccer. The six finalists (three male and three female) were determined in voting of Division I soccer coaches who are members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The group will be invited to the Busch Center on the campus of Saint Louis University on Saturday, Dec. 2, for a news conference where the winner of the award will be revealed. The announcement will be carried live on ESPNews (6:45 p.m. EST). A banquet at Saint Louis University that evening will feature the formal presentation of the prestigious crystal soccer ball trophy to the winner. | Kick off the Holidays Right Attend the Christmas Dinner Dance  Start the holiday season off on the right foot with the M.A.C. Dinner Dance on Thursday, Dec. 14. Whether you took ballroom dance classes this fall or just feel like showing off your moves, make plans now to attend the Christmas Dinner Dance. The evening begins with a cocktail reception (cash bar) at 6:30 p.m. From 7 to 8 p.m., a three-course dinner will be served and from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. members can dance to the music of Chasers Fore. | Kick Back and Relax Enjoy a Cigar and Bourbon Tasting, Dec. 6  This Christmas the M.A.C. Stogie Club and Apollos want you to take a break. Spoil yourself with a lavish evening of music, food, cigars, bourbon and friends. On Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Stogie Club is hosting a bourbon and cigar night in conjunction with the Apollos Christmas party. The event includes a piano player, Apollos singing, cigar tasting and single barrel bourbon tasting. Complimentary cigars by Gerard Ezvan will be provided. Jim Roman of Future Brands will be speaking and pouring bourbon samples. Members will have the opportunity to purchase bottles of Maker’s Mark, signed by the Master Distiller.  Thinking of Running a Marathon (or a Half Marathon)? The Downtown M.A.C. wants to help you train for the St. Louis Marathon on April 15. Recommended workouts will be posted daily in the cardio rooms, or pick up a master calendar for those days you can’t make it to the Club. It’s easier than you think!
