Arriving Soon ...
The M.A.C. Cherry Diamond

If you're like most members, you scan your daily mail near the beginning of each month for the much anticipated M.A.C. Cherry Diamond magazine. February's issue will be arriving soon, and this month it will feature:

• Tips on how to stick with fitness
• A chocolate lover's recipe from Chef Bart
• Photo highlights from the New Year's Eve Ball
• Goodfellowship Day preview

Battle of the Sexes
for a Good Cause

Guy vs. Gal … Old vs. Young … Arthritic vs. Bum Knees … However you view the challenge, you have a chance to make a difference.

THE SITUATION: Two M.A.C. Governors, David Pentland and Margaret May are going  head to head in a tennis competition reminiscent of the Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King tennis matches a few decades ago.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 31, commencing at 5:30 p.m. at M.A.C. West. Courtside viewing for heckling, cheering, jeering or just having a few laughs will be conveniently located on the tennis courts adjacent to the bar. Adult beverages and food will be served.

Spin Into Your Saturday
One of the best ways to stick with those weight loss goals is to engage in high-calorie burning activities, such as spinning. Research shows spinning participants burn 400 to 500 calories in a 40-minute session. The Downtown Clubhouse already offers a regular Monday, Wednesday and Friday class, but this spring it's offering an additional challenge for those who want to step it up a notch. If you're ready to take your exercise program to the next level, consider a biweekly Saturday morning two-hour spinning class at the Downtown Clubhouse (members are not required to stay the entire time). Classes are Feb. 10 and 17 and March 10 and 24 from 8 to 10 a.m.

Gear up for Street Hockey
Kids' program begins Thursday, Feb. 15
Coach Eric Saxton endured a brief stint in the NFL but failed to develop the skills to compete in the NFL. He firmly believes if he had someone to teach him the techniques, he would have been a dominant force in the league. He now dedicates his life to providing children with a chance to develop the skills necessary to excel in sports. This winter, he's bringing street hockey to the M.A.C., beginning Thursday, Feb. 15.

Take it to the Next Level
Totally Groomed Pros Sports Camp

If your child's dream is of being a professional athlete, Coach Eric Saxton can help. On Sunday, March 25 he is introducing an innovative NFL flag football program, Totally Groomed Pros Sports Camp. The six-week session will help kids catch, pass and defend more efficiently, as well as improve speed and technique. This age-appropriate camp for both boys and girls is fun and guaranteed to help kids gain skills that will help them improve in any sport and gain the confidence to compete at a higher level.
