The creator of greatest hits albums is heading to the Fox, and the M.A.C. has a limited amount of these hard-to-get tickets. Johnny Mathis, who released the first ever Greatest Hits album in the music industry (Johnny’s Greatest Hits), has been a music icon for more than 50 years. Don't miss his beautiful, romantic ballads and classic standards on Saturday, March 24, at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. Tickets to Johnny Mathis won't be available to the general public until a few days before the show, if at all. So, if Mathis is one of your all-time favorites, get tickets through the M.A.C. soon!
Mathis made his mark in June 1957, when he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show and was introduced to the record buying public. He has been a national celebrity and household name ever since. Mathis holds dozens of albums and has set many precedents in the music industry. His greatest hits album became one of the most popular albums of all time and spent an unprecedented 490 continuous weeks (almost ten years) on the BILLBOARD Top Albums Chart.
The recipient of three Grammy nominations, Mathis is also one of only five recording artists to have Top 40 Hits spanning each of the four decades since 1955. He has made several appearances before various heads of state, including Presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton, as well as the British Royal Family. In 2003 the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences gave him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
