Spin Through Your Weekend
Spinning is addictive, just ask anyone who does it regularly. Not only can a person burn up to 800 calories in one session, it's also an adrenaline rush. Spinning's addictive nature is exactly why the M.A.C. has added a two-hour Saturday spinning class at the Downtown Clubhouse (members are not required to stay the entire time). Join the fun on March 10 and 24 from 8 to 10 a.m.

This new class will be taught for the entire two hours, but members don’t have to feel pressure to spin the whole time if they can’t. The M.A.C. encourages members to come in and only spin for 45 minutes to an hour if they choose. Spinners can go at their own pace and build up their endurance if need be. Whether you are a regular or a newcomer to spinning, the Saturday class is for you.

Because it's a low impact sport, spinning is suitable for just about anyone. Spinning is a high energy workout performed on stationary bikes to adrenaline-inducing music and led by an enthusiastic instructor. The class usually includes a virtual ride on multi-terrained land, hills, flat roads and sprints. Spinning is a form of resistance training, so you're building long, lean muscles in your legs and butt to replace the fat you burn off.

The Downtown Clubhouse already offers regular weekday classes (check here for a class schedule) but if you're ready to shed those last stubborn pounds, consider the two-hour class. Pedal your way to a more fit you in 2007 and join the spinning class. The class is $6 for non-Diamond Club/Fellowship members.
