Soar Through History with
May's Cherry Diamond

May 20, 2007 marks the 80th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh's famed flight from New York to Paris in the "Spirit of St. Louis." Behind the plane were two men, M.A.C. members, who financially backed Lindbergh's flight. In May's Cherry Diamond, find out more about these men. You can also catch up on what's cooking in the Jack Buck Grille, recap the March Madness tournament and find out about upcoming events.

Wine, Dine and Dance!
Attend the Next Dinner Dance on May 11

In 1916, the M.A.C. held its first dinner dance in the then brand new Missouri Room. More than 90 years later, this tradition continues. The M.A.C. Dinner Dance Club sponsors four dinner dances a year. Make plans now to attend the next event on Friday, May 11, in the Missouri Room. With its vaulted ceilings, high windows and crystal chandeliers, the Missouri Ballroom is the perfect backdrop for a Friday night. After dining on an elegant meal, strap on your dancing shoes and boogie the night away to music by Chaser's Fore.

A cocktail reception (cash bar) begins at 6:30 p.m., dinner start at 7 p.m. and dancing kicks off at 8:30 p.m. Price is $32.50, inclusive, for Dinner Dance Club members and $39, inclusive, for non-members. Call 314-539-4470 to make reservations.

Bump, Set, Spike!
Play Volleyball at West

If you are sick of the treadmill, volleyball is a great way to keep your body toned and firm. It is a team-oriented workout that improves your hand-eye coordination and burns some calories. Every Wednesday M.A.C. West hosts open volleyball in the gym. Drop by at 6:30 p.m. any Wednesday to play in a fun pick-up game. Open volleyball requires no commitment and costs you nothing. So, if you are tired of the same Wednesday night weights and elliptical routine, drop by the West gym on Wednesdays. If you have any questions, please call Athletic Director Tim Kelley, 314-539-4476.
