August Cherry Diamond

The MAC Dive Team finished its season undefeated. With over 30 divers and 210 swimmers, the Swim and Dive teams kept things cool all summer long. In August’s Cherry Diamond, find out about all of the summer festivities happening at both Clubhouses. Also, read up about upcoming CWC events, golf opportunities and a new Downtown barber.

Sassy, Soulful Singer at MAC
Kim Massie will belt it out in the JBG

Treat your ears to the sweet, soulful and sassy sounds of Kim Massie. Enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, glass of wine and a memorable performance on Friday, Aug. 10 in the Jack Buck Grille. Massie will perform a little bit of Blues, Jazz, R&B and Gospel.

Starting off singing gospel tunes on her momma’s knee, Massie has come a long way from her shy days of singing in church and at weddings, where she wouldn’t even look at the crowd.

Are You Ready for Some Football?
Rams preseason kicks off in August

Preseason football is about to kick off, and the MAC is a great place to relax and get geared up for the game. Stop by the Clubhouse before heading to the Dome to enjoy cocktails and food. The Rams dinner buffets will be on Saturday, Aug. 18 and Thursday, Aug. 30 from 5-7 p.m. in Sportsman’s Club. The cost is $25.95. The Sportsman’s Club bar will also be open pre and post game from 5 p.m. – 1 a.m. For reservations, please call 314-539-4470.

Get Jazzed
Club Favorite Erin Bode to perform in JBG

Consistently winning over audiences, including the MAC, with her sweet personality and sincere performances, Erin Bode and her group will be making a return to the MAC on Friday, Aug. 17 from 6:15 - 9:15 p.m. in the Jack Buck Grille. Don’t miss this exquisite performance and the opportunity to hear Bode’s soft, silky, lyrical voice.

The Erin Bode Group has performed at famous venues in New York, Washington D.C. and Italy. Her distinctive sound, built from a jazz base and layered with touches of pop and folk, will provide the perfect backdrop to an unbelievable evening. Whether overseas or in local clubs like the MAC, her distinctive repertoire and crossover appeal have won audiences over again and again. She evokes comparisons to Eva Cassidy and Norah Jones.

Smoothies are available in several different flavors, including Strawberry Silk, Peachy Banana, Mocha Frappe and Berry Breeze, that will send your taste buds into a frenzy. The West Poolside Cafe is open Mon.- Fri., 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Ashtanga Yoga at West Ashtanga Yoga (power yoga) is a fluid form of yoga that links each breath with a physical posture. This athletic and challenging practice incorporates core strength with flexibility, agility and endurance. Concentration is enhanced through body awareness and open focus. Postures will range from beginning through advanced so each person can determine their ability/limit. All levels are welcome and encouraged. This 90 minute class includes a 15 minute relaxation allowing ease and integration. Classes are on Saturdays starting Aug. 11 at 11 at West. Mark Lumpkin will be the instructor. Classes cost $12.50/class or $45/4-week session. Sign up at the West Fitness Desk.
