Last Chance to Vote
Vote Now for Sports Personality of the Year
If you haven’t gotten your vote in yet for Sports Personality of the Year, you’ll want to send it in as soon as possible. Three candidates are deadlocked in the closest vote in the awards history. Every vote counts! All votes must be received by Thursday, Oct. 25 by 5 p.m. Be sure to tune in to the Buffet on Monday, Nov. 5 for the unveiling of the winner. The victorious candidate and many other distinguished members of the St. Louis sports community will be honored at the Jack Buck Sports Awards on Wednesday, Dec. 12. This event is always a sellout and lots of reservations have already been made. Call now to make your reservation at 314-539-4470. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to see some of your favorite sports figures at the Club.

Veterans Day Commemoration
A special time is set aside each year to honor those men and women who have served our country. Come to the MAC on Thursday, Nov. 8 to show your support and thanks to those veterans at the MAC’s Veterans Day Commemoration. This year’s guest speaker will be Mr. David Unterwagner, the director of the regional VA office. Mr. Unterwagner has worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs for over 33 years now. He most specifically works with the Veterans Benefits Administration. The commemoration begins at 11:15 a.m. with military exhibits and a cash bar. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by the program at 12:30 p.m. To make your reservation, call Stephanie at 314-539-4470. The cost is $25.

Dance! Dance! Dance!
Whether you have a natural dancer's grace or have two left feet, the Missouri Athletic Club's ballroom dancing class is fun for anyone. This five-week beginner, intermediate and advanced group dance class will feature the most popular ballroom dances. The class begins on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and continues every Tuesday through Dec. 4.

Each two-and-a-half hour class will be divided into three 45-minute segments that will teach you the proper way to perform a classic ballroom dance. To teach the class, the MAC has welcomed back Instructor Susan Nyemchek, an accomplished professional ballroom dance instructor with ten years experience in national competition.

Put on Your Lobster Bib
Feast like a king on a four-course lobster dinner during select weeks in October and November. Come to the Jack Buck Grille/Rendezvous Room for the Lobster Fall Festival. Whatever your taste for lobster may be, you can find it on the Fall Festival menu. The Fall Lobster Festival is Oct. 22- 27 and Oct. 29 - Nov. 3. Make your reservations now by calling 314-539-4470. Another Jazzy Performance
St. Louis' own jazz singer Erin Bode has performed nationwide at famous venues, such as New York's Sweet Rhythm, and toured internationally in Italy. Now, she's coming home to entertain you at an intimate venue in your own clubhouse. Head to the Jack Buck Grille on Friday, Nov. 9, for an exclusive dinner with the Erin Bode Group. If you've never heard Erin Bode or want to see her again, don't miss this intimate evening. Our speaker will be Colonel Ross Blake, USAF Retired. He was a Command Pilot with over 9800 hours of flying time. During World War 2 he was shot down four times and spent 3 ½ years in a German Stalag. Colonel Blake flew 117 combat missions in Korea and 128 combat missions in Viet Nam.

Side Dishes

Racquetball Clinics Polish up your racquetball skills with the #2 Women's Pro Cheryl Guidinas. Cheryl will be teaching a ladies clinic on Oct. 24 and a clinic for all levels on Oct. 25 both at MAC West. Clinics will consist of Q&As, Play analysis, strength and conditioning, drills, psychology of the game, game strategies and play the pro. Both nights will be from 5:30-8 p.m. The cost is $50 for members, $65 for non-members. To sign up, call 314-539-4467.
