Capital
Contribution Update
Recently,
the membership passed a very important capital contribution plan.
On behalf of the Board, I thank you for your steadfast support of
our great Club. The funds that are being collected are being put to
immediate use to make long overdue improvements to both clubhouses.
These are important projects to ensure the comfort and safety of our
membership and guests. The planned projects at the Downtown Clubhouse
include chiller, cooling tower, garage improvements and replacement
of several elevators. At the West clubhouse, parking lot improvements,
a new roof over the handball/fitness area, A/C project for racquetball/handball
area and concrete replacement around the pool. All of these projects
will be completed by November 2008. Check out this space in upcoming
editions of the Buffet for updates regarding these important improvement
projects.

Battle
on the Court Supports Charities
President
Scott Engelbrecht and Governor Margaret May are hoping to crush
Governor David Pentland and MAC Tennis Pro Kim Steinmetz in a battle
on the courts at West to raise money for the 2008 MAC Charities
selected by the Charitable Society. The players, as well as five
other MAC Tennis Pros, will play several matches, each representing
one of the three charities, Sunnyhill Adventures, Covenant House
and Sherwood Forest Camp. Money will be collected throughout the
evening (cash or check). The winnings per player (in games) will
be tallied and the total amount of money collected in donations
will be divided proportionality to the charities based on the number
of games won for each charity. Come out to West on Friday, Feb.
29 at 6:30 p.m., to support your governors, pros and most importantly
charities. All three charities will be on hand to tell you more
about their causes. Also,
members of the charitable society will be available to answer any
questions you may have. You can identify members of the Charitable
Society by their cherry red buttons that say “Ask me about
the Charitable Society.” If you are unable to attend the Tennis
Exhibition but would still like to donate, you can send a donation
in advance to: MAC Charitable Society, 13325 Fairfield Square Drive,
Chesterfield, MO 63017. Make checks payable to MAC Charitable Society.
By putting your money on the Charitable Society, you are for sure
putting it on a winner! |
