Philip
"Flip" Schwarz Elected Next President of the MAC
Four other officers named
Philip
"Flip" Schwarz has been elected the 93rd president of the
Missouri Athletic Club.
The Club's 15-member Board of Governors elected Schwarz and the other
senior officers on Wednesday, Feb. 27. All will begin a one-year term
of office in May.
Schwarz, 48, has been a member of the MAC since 1980. He and his
wife Ann have two sons, Tyler and Alex. Schwarz graduated from Ladue
High School and Saint Louis University.
Schwarz has served on the MAC Membership Committee, Long Range
Planning Committee and Club Life Committee. He is also active in
the MAC Toastmasters , the MAC Business Development Group and the
Apollos.
Elected first vice president was William Springer; elected second
vice president was Margaret May; elected secretary was W. Thomas
Chulick and treasurer was Ed Corich.
Schwarz will succeed G. Scott Engelbrecht as president.

Wine
and Dine at MAC West

Lads
and Dads Get on Your Green
Calling
all fathers and sons... put on your best green outfit and hop aboard
the MAC float for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 15.
Show your Club spirit by riding in the parade through the streets
of downtown. The MAC Families CWC is organizing this fun opportunity
for dads and their lads. Reserve your spot on the float before it

special green and orange customized MAC shirts and apparel available
for purchase to commemorate the festive occasion. |

Drink and Be Merry
The
MAC Happy Hour sponsored by the Associates is back on! The event
was cancelled due to inclement weather, but has been rescheduled
for Thursday, March 6, from 5:30-8 p.m., in the Sportsman's Club.
Meet some new faces around the Club and mix with your fellow members.
There will be a special appetizer menu as well as drink specials.
Draft beers will be $2 and martinis will be $4. No reservations

is Back!
Erin
Bode is returning to the MAC on Thursday, March 20, for another
intimate performance in the Jack Buck Grille. Bode is no longer
just a local gem. She is now a world renowned performer. The MAC
is proud to welcome back Bode for this special evening. Bode's engaging
personality and soulful performances will enhance your delicious
three-course meal in the Grille. If you have never seen Erin Bode

Hawks
to Soar Again
1958 NBA Champions to be Honored
 Fifty
years ago, the St. Louis Hawks captured the city's first and only
NBA championship. On April 10 at the Touhill Theater on the campus
of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, don't miss the "St.
Louis Hawks Championship Tribute Night." Hall of Famers Bob
Pettit, Ed Macauley, Cliff Hagan and Slater Martin, along with team
captain Charlie Share, Al Ferrari and broadcast legend Buddy Blattner
will all be in attendance. Special NBA guests will include Harry
Gallatin and the great Oscar Robertson.
The on-stage program will feature NBA videos, player interviews
and a roundtable discussion. Never-before-seen or heard audio and
video play-by-play will be on the program. The 1958 World Championship
Trophy will be on display before and after the event for fans to
get pictures.
A special exclusive section of VIP seats has been set aside for
MAC members and guests. The event begins with a lobby reception
at 6:15 p.m., followed by the program at 7:30 p.m. The price to
attend is a $75 value, but MAC members can attend for $60. Included
in the price is the beautiful new coffee table book by Greg Marecek
"The St. Louis Hawks - A Gallery of Images and Memorabilia."

Bike, Run & Triathlon
CWC Meeting Date Changed The Bike,
Run & Triathlon meeting scheduled for Friday, March 7 has been moved
to Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at MAC West. Those interested
should meet by the bar. If you are interested in getting involved with
the CWC head to West. The CWC is always looking for new faces, no matter
your skill level or past experience in biking or running. If you have

Member Guide Book in the Mail In
the next few weeks, you should receive a copy of the 2008 Summer Member
Guide Book. This important member resource contains the most up-to-date
information, including employee contact information, facility hours
and program information. Whether you're looking to sign up for the swim
team, take basketball lessons or enroll in a personal training session,
the guide book will tell you how!

Board Candidates Deadline
Approaching The MAC Nominating Committee is currently seeking
qualified candidates for the Board of Governors election. The MAC would
like you to consider or someone you know as a possible board candidate.
Serving on the board is the most rewarding experience offered here at
the Club, and in the end, you'll receive much more than you give. The
first thing you must do if you want to run for the board is complete
the basic information packets, which include a letter of intent, biography
and photograph. These are due by Monday, March 17, at 5 p.m. to Patti
Cundiff. The Nominating Committee will then take these packets and narrow
the list of candidates to 10. Voters will vote on these 10 candidates
on Thursday, May 1. The five people with the most votes will be the
next class of governors. Winners will be announced around 8 p.m. on
Election Day.

Got Game? Bring your best game to MAC West for the Racquetball
Championship on Saturday, March 8, at 9 a.m. Players will battle on
the court until one person is deemed champion. There will be gold, silver
and bronze divisions. Join the elite few who have won this prestigious
title. Winners will receive an etched glass mug. Gold division winners
will also receive their name on the MAC plaque and the book,”
Winning Racquetball.” Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
All participants will receive a free t-shirt and instructional clinic
