April
Cherry Diamond
Now
that spring has sprung, it's time for Cardinals games, rooftop happy
hours and golf games. April is tipping off with the annual double
elimination basketball tournament. The top MAC players will be battling
it out on the courts all throughout the month. The Stogie Club will
be hosting a special evening with legendary jazz musician and cigar
aficionado Avo Uvezian. Uvezian will perform the classic ballad
“Strangers in the Night,” which he composed. Golf season
is teeing off and MAC members can now get in the swing. Be sure
to check out the special MAC rates available at courses throughout
the area. Each spring, the greatest MAC tradition takes place, the
Club elections. On May 1, come to the Downtown Clubhouse to experience
the election excitement. Get out and enjoy your great Club in the
beautiful spring weather.

Swim
Team Registration The
temperatures outside are still too cold for the pool, but the MAC
Penguin Swim and Dive team is already jumping in to swim season action.
There are two registration dates coming up to sign up your children
for the swim and dive team. The Club has one of the best and most
talented swim programs in the area. If your child is interested, sign
ups will be held on Tuesday, April 1, and Thursday, May 1, from 4-7
p.m. at the MAC West Poolside Café. All interested participants
must sign up in person. The cost is $75 for one child and $65 for
each additional child. Summer swim programs are a great way for your
child to meet new friends, stay in shape and learn commitment and
dedication. The MAC offers a Red
Team, which is a competitive team that participates
in meets against other swim clubs. The Club’s Blue
and White teams are non-competitive. All teams
have plenty of time for fun and provide a great opportunity for kids
to make friends. For more information, contact Tim Kelley at 314-539-4476. |

| Don't
Be Yoga-shy!
Yoga
is not just for women. While it may look easier for women to do,
the health benefits that men can get out of it can greatly impact
your life. Men, don’t be yoga-shy anymore. Give it a try and
see your flexibility and strength increase while your stress and
sore muscles are alleviated. A new yoga session begins on Monday,
March 31. The session lasts eight weeks and meets every Monday from
noon – 1 p.m. Yoga is more than a physical work out. It is
mentally challenging too, as it focuses on working with breathing.
Men are habitually chest breathers, which can result in increased
stress, blood pressure and anxiety. Yoga teaches you full abdominal
breathing. This increases energy levels and your sense of focus.
Breathe your way to a healthier life. For more information or to
sign up, contact Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434.

Capital
Contribution Update
Renovation
projects associated with the recent capital contribution program
have begun. Currently, the old surface on the east and south sides
of the MAC West pool is being removed. It will be replaced with
concrete work. The north and west sides were recently replaced.
The nice broom finish surface will replace the old cracked exposed
aggregate surface that has been there since 1975. The project
should be completed within the next few weeks (weather allowing).
