Qualifications to be Governor
I want to be your governor and need your vote. I am honored to be considered as one of your governors.
Our club needs commitment on the part of our governors and members. My priorities include retaining and increasing membership, maintaining the facilities, addressing membership needs as well as retaining the best staff possible.
I take seriously my MAC Committee Appointments and bring the needs of the membership to those committees. From being active, I have made great friends and built business relationships.
My strengths come from running a small business. I have learned to work within budget, handle employment, development, long term planning and regulatory issues. Traditional values and fiscal responsibility are essential. I am proud of my work ethic, ability to listen and ability to be a team player.
I am enthusiastic and encouraged to keep our’s as the best club in St. Louis. I appreciate the opportunity, challenges and obligations of being one of your Governors. Thank you for your vote.

Qualifications to be Governor
The experience that I have gained from public school teaching for twenty-five years, teaching on the university level, as well coaching the women’s soccer team at Washington University for thirteen years and being the chair of a fundraiser that collected over $60,000 for Nurses for Newborns, along with my work on the Membership Committee, and now Vice-President of a real estate company, has allowed me to be a team member and leader. I personally supervise the company’s top office with a staff of 100. The company’s overall sales are close to one billion dollars. The many opportunities have given me the leadership experience and understanding of the key ingredients that it takes for team success. Working with budgets to understanding and listening to the members of a team and to put action plans into place are some of my strengths. It is very important for the MAC to be progressive in its focus, yet maintain the many traditions. I would be honored to be a Governor. My goal would be to see continuous growth in membership and full utilization of both the West and Downtown facilities.

I bring energy and enthusiasm to a historic club and a gem in the city of St. Louis. Additionally, with my relationship skills I want to continue to grow a strong membership and family experience that will last for generations to come. I also want to see our work out facilities continue to improve and always be cutting edge, so we all have a wonderful quality of life. A new idea for the Club that would make memories to last a lifetime would be a mother-son dance. Lastly, it is an honor to be asked to serve because it is in service where we truly shine.

Qualifications
I represent large corporations in complex litigation and restructuring matters. My leadership and analytical skills allow me to identify and resolve difficult issues.
I use the same skills to benefit the MAC. For example, a few of us brought boxing back to the MAC in 2005. The MAC Boxing Championship sells out every year, creating revenue for the club and a chance for friends to enjoy a great evening. I also revived the annual MAC cycling race. The Tour de MAC brings existing, new and potential members together.
From my wedding reception, to daily work-outs, to lounging by the pool, the MAC is a significant part of my life. I want to give back and help lead this great Club. We must attract and retain members by providing the best facilities and programs. I would be honored to serve as a Governor to accomplish these tasks.
I humbly ask for your vote.

Diamond Club Member-10 years
As a member of the Boys Club, I began attending the MAC at age five. I clearly remember Boys Club classes held on the fifth floor on Thursday and Saturday mornings. In fact, these classes are some of my fondest childhood memories. Coming from a large family of eleven children, seven of whom were male; my parents thought the fifth floor of the MAC was the best thing since sliced bread! The Martin’s have enjoyed the club since the 1940’s, celebrating many memorable occasions including weddings, funerals and holiday brunches.
I believe my background in finance and investments, coupled with my marketing and fundraising experience, should serve the Club and its members well. I especially look forward to using my marketing and relationship-building skills on the Membership Committee. If elected, I will make member recruitment my highest priority.
It goes without saying that the Club has served me and my family well for many, many years. I have been fortunate to have developed many relationships through Club activities on a personal and business note. I feel a responsibility to give back to an organization such as the Club, which has been so good to me and many others; I am currently at a point in my life and career where I can do just that. I would be grateful for your support.

Experience:
I’ve held second and third-level engineering, marketing, and financial management positions with three Fortune100 companies. This brought me to St. Louis and a corporate staff position with General Dynamics. Following voluntary resignation, I successfully operated then sold three thriving and successful businesses, further honing my business operations proficiency, in preparation for a MAC Governor’s role.
For more than 15 years, our company donated services to carry out dramatic voice and data network improvements, saving the club several hundred-thousand dollars in reduced or eliminated service costs, while designing the club’s Wide-Area voice and data Network. I interviewed each department manager, gaining an in-depth look at each facet of the club’s operation, helping managers to improve membership services. As part of this continuing initiative I will contribute to the club’s goals and objectives, developing a new level of activity and improvements. As a MAC Governor, I will help to direct our programs, policies, and potential.
