Five
New Governors Elected to Board

On Thursday night, May 1, members of the Missouri Athletic Club elected
five new governors to three-year terms on the Board of Governors.
Elected were Ed Gilkerson, Christopher Lawhorn, L. Wayne McCollum,
James McMullin and Richard L. Nix. Gilkerson is a lawyer; Lawhorn
is a Partner at Bryan Cave LLP; McCollum is Owner of McTelcom Engineering,
Inc.; McMullin is a lawyer; and Nix is President, Diversified Management
Consultants, L.L.C.

Take
the Initiative
Recruitment = Rewards
Take
advantage of a rewarding new membership program at the Club. Under
the new MAC Membership Initiative, you will have unlimited potential
to earn credits on your bill by referring new members. The MAC Membership
initiative is being offered to stimulate membership growth. Members
are encouraged to recruit as many new members as possible to promote
the benefits and traditions of the MAC. For each successfully proposed
new Jr. Resident or Resident members, who pays the full initiation
fee of $500 or $1,000 respectively, the primary referring member
will receive a credit on their member account of $250/each new Jr.
Resident member or $500/each new Resident member. This offer will
be in effect from May 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. New member
referrals prior to this date are excluded. This plan has great potential

Breakfast is back
Breakfast
in the Sportsman’s Club is back by popular demand. Start your
morning off right with a delicious and hearty meal at the Club. The
Sportsman’s Club breakfast is perfect for a morning business
meeting or for refueling post workout. Breakfast is served from 7-10:30
a.m., Monday – Friday. Stop by the 4th floor Downtown for freshly
baked breakfast pastries, thick smoked bacon or buttermilk griddle
cakes. If you’re looking for lighter fare, try a fresh fruit

Rooftop Party
Start
your Friday night out with a breath of fresh air at the 3rd Annual
Associates Rooftop Party on Friday, May 9. Take in the beautiful
view of downtown St. Louis while you sip on cocktails and socialize
with other members. All members and guests are invited to enjoy
this fun evening atop the Downtown Clubhouse. There will be savory
appetizers to munch on as well as $2 bottle beers and $3 martinis.
The Johnny Bryan Band will provide the entertainment and Glazer's
will be on hand to provide a drink tasting. The evening kicks off
at 6:30 p.m., and the cost is $14 per person, plus gratuity. Don’t

Spring
Dinner Dance
Dine
and dance the night away at the Spring Dinner Dance on Friday, May
9, at the Downtown Clubhouse. The elegant Missouri Ballroom will be
transformed into a colorful spring time garden with fresh flowers
and upbeat tunes from the Chaser’s Fore. In addition to a night
of dancing, you will feast on a delicious three-course meal. All members
are invited and encouraged to attend, but there is a special benefit
to being a Dinner Dance Club member. A discounted price is offered
to Dinner Dance Club members to all dinner dance events and reservations
are guaranteed. To become a Dinner Dance Club member, contact Courtney

On
Wednesday, May 21, hundreds of girls will be putting on their prettiest
dresses, fixing their hair in a fancy do and maybe even putting on
a little lipstick and eye shadow, for a fun night out at the Club.
The Annual Father/Daughter Dance is a Club tradition that has taken
place at the MAC since 1947. Be a part of history and share a special
moment with your daughter or granddaughter at this enchanting evening
of carriage rides, dinner, father/daughter pictures and dances. The
night begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception (carriage rides), followed
by dinner at 7 p.m. and dancing at 8 p.m. Carriage rides are $10 and
must be reserved when making reservations for the event. Those 12
and over can attend the event for $29.95, plus gratuity; those 11
