Summer is quickly coming to an end. Soon kids will be going back to school, and pools will be closing for the season. Before summer ends, MAC West is hosting an Animal House Poolside Party to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of “Animal House.” Throw on your toga and get ready for a good time. There is still plenty of summer activities going on at the Club. The MAC Preservation Foundation is hosting a big golf tournament in August. West has been busy with sports camps for kids, which still have openings. And if you still haven’t gotten that beach body you’ve been wanting, a new fitness class at the Downtown Clubhouse may be just what you need. Make the most of the rest of your summer at the Club. MAC Golf Classic
Benefiting the MAC Preservation Foundation
Enjoy a day of golf at the Country Club at the Legends, and support the Club’s Preservation Foundation. The MAC Preservation Foundation is hosting the MAC Golf Classic on Monday, Aug. 25. Your day at the Legends will include: putting green practice, driving range practice, locker room use, course refreshments, lunch, golf cart, 18 holes of golf, reception & dinner, prizes. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., lunch will be at 11 a.m., followed by a noon shot gun start. The tournament is a four-person scramble format. At 6 p.m., there will be a reception, dinner and auctions. Proceeds benefit the MAC Preservation Foundation, which is raising funds to support necessary structural improvement projects to the Downtown Clubhouse. Rams Buffet
Before you head to the Dome to root for the Rams in preseason action, stop in the Club for a delicious dinner in the Sportsman’s Club. For only $25.95, you can feast on a lavish buffet before the game. You’ll also be just a few minutes walking distance from the Stadium. The Sportsman’s Club bar will also be open pre and post-game, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. The preseason Rams buffets will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16 and 23 from 5-7 p.m. To make a reservation, please call 314-539-4470. Take a Relaxing Lunch
Escape your hectic workday for an hour with a relaxing afternoon yoga class at the Downtown Clubhouse. A new yoga session begins on Monday, Aug. 11, and continues every Monday for 8 weeks. Class begins at noon and is an hour long. The cost is $50 for the 8-week session or $10 per class. Yoga is a great relaxation and balance exercise. Men can especially benefit from yoga. It helps flexibility which can relieve those aches and pains that come with age. If you are interested in signing up, please contact Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434.

Roster Now Available Online
Have you ever been away from the office or out of town and needed a number out of the MAC Roster? Well now, you can access the Roster from anywhere in the world. The MAC Roster is available online through the Member’s Only section of the Web site. You can look up the business and residential information for all members at the Club. The Roster can be a great way to network and expand your business. It also contains important Club phone numbers for both Clubhouses. Take care of MAC business while away from the Club. Advertise in the Buffet
Take advantage of an advertising outlet right at your fingertips. The MAC offers online advertising in the Club’s weekly e-newsletter, The Buffet. By advertising in The Buffet you will see your business increase. Sent to Club members every Monday, this tool is a great way to get the business of your fellow MAC members. With a simple click of the mouse, readers will be directly linked to your company’s Web site. The Buffet is also linked from the MAC Web site (www.mac-stl.org) and search engines. There are two sizes available. The low monthly rate gets your company exposure in four to five new weekly issues per month. Rick Palank of the St. Louis County Economic Council will be the featured speaker at the August meeting of the MAC Business Development and Fellowship Club within a Club. The Business Development and Fellowship Club hosts regular monthly breakfast meetings with varying formats including speakers, short presentations and round table discussions focusing on business practice, process and development topics.  This club is also sponsoring quarterly fellowship events focusing on family and treasured St. Louis attractions including the St. Louis Zoo, Science Center and the City Museum.

MAC Golf Club Tournament The MAC Golf Club is hosting the 2008 MAC President's Cup at the Country Club at the Legends beginning on Thursday, Aug. 14. Entries are open to male and female amateur golfers who are current in their membership status at the Missouri Athletic Club. Entrants in the Men’s Masters division must have reached their 50th birthday by Aug. 14, 2008. Entrants in the Men’s and Women’s Net divisions must either have an official USGA GHIN handicap index or produce a copy of their current handicap card showing both index and date of revision. MAC Golf Club Members will receive a $25 discount for the entry fee. Fee is yet to be determined - Will encompass first round greens fees at The Legends (MAC rate) and expenses related to running the tournament. Member/Guest Fellowship Day MAC West is hosting a Member/Guest Fellowship Day on Saturday, Sept. 13. More details to come.


Camp MAC Sign Up There are still some openings for Camp MAC. This sports camp is for kids with many interests and lots of energy. Camp MAC stands out because the outstanding teaching pros will teach the children the proper skills in a variety of sports including tennis, racquetball, squash, basketball, soccer, volleyball, martial arts and more.
The camp is split into two main age groups (ages 5-8 and 9-12). Camp meets Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m. for all-day campers only. Call Tim Kelley at 539-4476 to sign up your child.
