Breakfast with the Blues!
Preview the upcoming hockey season and see your favorite players and coaches at the Blues Breakfast Forum, held on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Missouri Room. The 2008-2009 hockey season is fast approaching and fans are getting geared up to see their team hit the ice. The Blues Breakfast is a fun opportunity for fans of all ages to meet their favorite players. Blues management expects full team participation, and the entire team will be seated with fans throughout the Missouri Room. Blues players will be available for autographs as well. The Blues Breakfast begins with registration and a buffet at 8:30 a.m. followed by the program from 9-10 a.m. The cost is $33 per person, inclusive. September Cherry Diamond
Summer is over, but that doesn't mean the end of the fun. The social season has begun, and there are events happening at both Clubhouses for everyone’s interests. Sports fans, are you ready for some football? The Rams season is about to kick off and on game days the MAC will feature a delicious pre-game buffet. If hockey is more your sport, then be sure to make a reservation now for the annual Blues Breakfast. The whole team is expected to be at the Club to discuss their upcoming season. Clubs within the Club are a great way to get involved at the MAC. Find one that peaks your interest and join in the fun. This month the Bridge Club and the Dance Club will have lessons for members to improve their skills. The Downtown Clubhouse will host a series of happy hours on Wednesday nights in the Grille. They offer a chance to meet other members and celebrate the week being half over. While temperatures will begin to drop and days will become shorter, there is so much going on at the MAC that you’ll hardly even notice. Member/Guest Family Open House
The MAC offers members a complete private club experience in two Clubhouses. When spending time at the MAC, a member can workout, play racquetball, tennis or squash, swim in the pool, get a haircut or manicure, shop for gear in the Pro shop and enjoy a delicious meal. Where else in the area can you go to get this all-inclusive treatment? The Club has so much to offer to its members. Showcase your Club to prospective members and their families at a day of fun at the Member/Guest Family Open House at MAC West on Saturday, Sept. 13. MAC staff will be on hand to discuss membership, fitness, tennis, squash, racquetball and basketball. Food and beverage will be provided for the entire family for $20. Guests are complimentary. If you have a family member, friend or business associate who may be interested in joining, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce them to the Club. Wednesday Happy Hours in the JBG
Get reacquainted with the Jack Buck Grille. The Grille is the place to be on Wednesday nights. On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Grille will feature its first happy hour from 5-7 p.m. for all members to enjoy. There will be food and drink specials that will be hard to pass up! Members old and new are encouraged to attend to make new friends and catch up with old friends. There’s no better place to celebrate the work week being half over than at the MAC. Specials will include $2 long necks, $3 glasses of wine and $4 martinis. Appetizers will also be ½ price. Additional happy hours will take place on Sept. 10, 24 & Oct. 1, 15, 22 and 29. No reservations are required. |
Sunday Brunch is Back at West
Brunch at West is back following a short summer break. Beginning Sunday, Sept. 7, brunch will again be served each Sunday (with the exception of Easter Brunch and Mother’s Day Brunch which are Downtown only). An expanded array of selections have been added to the menu along with many of the MAC menu favorites. New items include jumbo shrimp cocktail, prime rib, eggs benedict, salads and assorted pastries. Enjoy brunch with the family on Sunday for an outstanding price. The price is $20.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids under 12. Also, West is offering a brunch incentive. Ballroom Dance Lessons
Learn a few new moves or perfect your step in the next session of Ballroom Dance Lessons at the Downtown Clubhouse. Professional ballroom dance instructor Susan Nyemchek will once again teach the lessons. Nyemchek is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor who can get any couple out on the dance floor perfecting moves. She has a way of breaking down the steps into small achievable dances that in the end are all put together into one number. Lessons begin on Tuesday, Sept. 9, and continue on each Tuesday through Sept. 30. Capital Improvement Update
The new walkway around the cooling tower that was installed earlier this summer is now complete. It includes a new door from the 6th floor mechanical room and a bridge over to the walkway. Repair work in the Downtown garage is nearly complete.

Events

All MAC athletes are welcome to participate in the first-ever Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, Sept. 6, at MAC West. The transition area will open at 6:30 a.m. A mandatory safety briefing will be held at 7 a.m. with the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. The race begins with a 300-yard swim, followed by a 12-mile bike and concludes with a 3-mile run. The deadline to register is Sept. 3.
