Breakfast with the Blues
Wake up and head to the MAC for breakfast with your favorite Blues players on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Downtown Clubhouse. The whole team is expected to be there and will be seated throughout the Missouri Room with fans. Preview the upcoming season and hear from head coach Andy Murray and President of Hockey Operations John Davidson. The Blues are anticipating a successful season. They just signed the number four overall draft pick Alex Pietrangello, who joins a talented group of young players that the team hopes will help grow the future of the organization. The Blues Breakfast begins with registration and a buffet at 8:30 a.m. followed by the program from 9-10 a.m. The cost is $33 per person, inclusive. Fall Dinner Dance
Fall officially begins on Monday, Sept. 22. Soon the leaves will be changing to shades of red and orange and temperatures will drop. Celebrate the change of season at the Fall Dinner Dance on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Downtown Clubhouse. Enjoy dinner and dancing in the beautiful Missouri Room. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., where a cash bar will be available. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., and then the rest of the evening is reserved to dance the night away to entertainment by the Chasers Fore. The dance is open to all members. Happy Hours in the JBG
Wednesday is the day of the week to celebrate. You’ve not only made it through the first half of the work week, but also the weekend is just two days away. The MAC is the best place in town to enjoy food and drink specials. The Jack Buck Grille hosts happy hours on certain Wednesday nights. Come and hang out with friends and meet some new ones as well. These happy hours are ideal for young members, but all members new and old are welcome and encouraged to attend. Appetizers will be half price and there will be $2 bottles, $3 glasses of wine and $4 martinis. No reservations are required. The next happy hour will be on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 5-7 p.m. Additional happy hour dates include Oct. 1, 15, 22 and 29. |
Tickets Now Available to the Color Purple at the Fabulous Fox
Spend an evening out at the MAC and Fabulous Fox Theatre. The Club has premium theater tickets available for the Broadway Series at the Fox, which has a phenomenal line up for this season. The first show in the series is "The Color Purple". "The Color Purple" is a soul-stirring musical based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker and Oscar nominated film by Steven Spielberg. You’ll feel the despair and hardships of the main character Celie, who triumphs over all odds to find her inner beauty and joy in her life. The MAC is offering two dates to see "The Color Purple" at the Fox on Thursday, Oct. 30, and Friday, Oct. 31. For just $125, you can enjoy an evening out on the town, including dinner at the Club, transportation to and from the theater in the luxurious MAC shuttle and tickets for some of the best seats in the Fox Theater. Rod and Gun Club Survey
If you are a member of the Rod and Gun Club, or if you are interested in hunting or fishing, please take a survey the group has put out to help plan some upcoming events. The Rod and Gun Club provides unique opportunities in order to experience different hunting and fishing adventures. This club is also sponsoring quarterly fellowship events focusing on family and treasured St. Louis attractions including the St. Louis Zoo, Science Center and the City Museum.

Friday, Sept. 19
Come dressed for a couple of hours by the pool enjoying an end-of-summer barbecue. President Wayne McCollum has developed a trivia contest for the occasion. Travel Chair Marilyn Ells will have news about a great trip to Chicago planned for next spring. And of course, there will be the attendance prize and 50-50 drawings, plus a business meeting with announcements. This is an opportunity to relax and get to know your fellow FYCrs better – especially important now that our group has grown to some 166 members!
