Break Away from the Work Day
Escape from the hustle and bustle of the workday with an afternoon relaxation break. A new yoga session will begin on Monday, Oct. 27. This 8-week session meets every Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Downtown Clubhouse. Yoga increases flexibility and assists in the loosening of tight body parts, which allows the body to become aligned. Strength training is also more effective when paired with yoga, and yoga allows a person to have an evenly flowing mind while involved in this rigorous activity. Yoga is one of the few physical activities that has a "de-compacting" effect on the body. This is essential to counter the effects of gravity associated with activities such as running or jogging. Yoga also provides much-needed "symmetry relief" to such asymmetric endeavors such as racquet sports and golf, which torque the spine in only one direction. If you are interested in signing up or would like more information, please contact Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate. |
