Members of the St. Louis Blues family have played an important role on the ice hockey Team U.S.A. in prior Olympics dating back to 1968 and as recent as 2006. While several Olympians in the St. Louis Blues family have been invited to this event, they are each very busy and their attendance is not confirmed at this printing. A few that will be recognized at the event for their outstanding accomplishments in representing the United States are:
- Brett Hull: 2-time Olympian (1998, 2002 Silver Medal Team)
- Jim Campbell: (1994 Olympian) and now an officer with the U.S. Olympians & Paralympians Association Missouri & Illinois Chapter
- Mark Johnson: (1980 Gold Medal Team)
- Keith Tkachuck: 4-time Olympian ( 1992, 1998, 2002 Silver Medal Team, 2006)
- Larry Pleau: 3-time Olympian (1968; 2002 Assist. GM; 2004 GM)
- Doug Weight: 2-time Olympian (1998, 2002 Silver Medal Team)
The 1980 Gold Medal Ice Hockey Team photo, titled Miracle on Ice, is autographed by all twenty members of the team (including Mark Johnson) and the coach, the late Herb Brooks. It is expected to be offered at live auction during the evening as one of several very unique pieces.
A lobby display of Olympic art is featured at the MAC downtown location for the entire month of October. Most of the pieces are available to purchase before the event. Just check at the front desk. Members can purchase by signing to their member account.
Corporate tables of ten are still available for the banquet. Reservations can be given by phone with the MAC at: (314) 539-4470. Sponsors for the event are available. Please call Jim Tullmann (314) 537-7653.
