MAC Serves Up Billikens Basketball
Catch Coach Majerus at the Club on Nov. 4
A spectacular new on-campus arena, a crop of talented freshmen and the dynamic duo of seniors Kevin Lisch and Tommie Liddell has Billikens basketball fans buzzing about the upcoming season. The MAC is offering fans a special opportunity to talk hoops with legendary coach Rick Majerus at the Billikens Basketball Luncheon on Nov. 4. Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and at 12:15 p.m. a season preview by Coach Majerus, who will also answer questions from fans.
Coach Majerus is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in college basketball. He has led 12 teams to the NCAA Tournament. With the Utah Utes, Majerus had two Sweet 16 appearances, one Elite Eight and an appearance in the NCAA championship game.

Show Your Support for Veterans
Show your support for past and present Veterans at the Missouri Athletic Club’s Veterans Day Commemoration. Come out and honor the men and women who have served our country on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Downtown Clubhouse. The day will feature a delicious lunch, guest speakers and musical entertainment. This year’s guest speaker is Lieutenant General Richard F. Natonski. General Natonski commands the U.S. Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM). MARFORCOM is the U.S. Marine Corps Service Component to the U.S. Joint Forces Command, and is one of three major Marine Corps commands.  Lieutenant General Natonski serves as a principal advisor to the Joint Forces Commander, and he is responsible for organizing, training and equipping forces for deployment.
The Veterans Day Commemoration begins at 11:15 a.m. with military exhibits and a cash bar in the Eads room. Musical Monopoly
Take an imaginary trip around the board game of Monopoly to musical stops on the familiar streets, railroads and Chance cards of this beloved pastime at the Apollos annual fall concert on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Downtown Clubhouse. You will be singing along to tunes such as “Under the Boardwalk,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Downtown,” and “Tennessee Waltz.” The Apollos have been singing for members and guests at the MAC for over 60 years now. Their show is always a hit and a sell out, so make your reservations early by calling 314-539-4470. The price is $29.95, plus gratuity, and includes dinner and parking. MAC Speaker Series
Former Governor of Missouri Bob Holden will be speaking at the Club on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Art Lounge. Governor Holden had a career in public service for 25 years, eight of which were as the Missouri State Treasurer and four as the Governor. He now is a private sector leader in education and international economic development. Governor Holden founded the Holden Public Policy Forum at Webster University. The Holden Public Policy Forum is a forum for distinguished speakers to openly discuss ongoing public policy. Education has always been a primary focus of Governor Holden’s career. He created the college savings program MOST when he was treasurer. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with registration followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the program at 12:15 p.m. The cost to attend is $20, which includes lunch and garage parking. To make a reservation, call 314-539-4470. This event is the first in the MAC Speaker Series that will be held at the Downtown Clubhouse. Trouble-Free Turkey Day
Take the time to relax this Thanksgiving by letting the MAC do all of the work for you. No more scrambling around the kitchen to carve the turkey, stir the gravy or set the table. And most importantly, no dishes! Enjoy the chance to sit down with family and friends to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving buffet on Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Downtown Clubhouse. The buffet will feature all your Thanksgiving favorites like stuffing, cranberry sauce, creamy mashed potatoes and traditional turkey. Wild Game Dinner Special in the JBG
The Jack Buck Grille is offering a special dining opportunity throughout the month of November. Wild Game night will tantalize your taste buds with new flavors and textures. For just $28, you will get a salad, soup or appetizer, main entrée and dessert. Features on the menu include flash fried alligator, Apple wood Smoked American Bison Top Sirloin and Pecan Crusted Pheasant Breast w/ Roasted Shallot Pan Sauce. Sweet Treats for the Holidays
Have everyone’s favorite dessert this year over the holiday season without having to make them all yourself. The MAC is making your holiday preparations easy by selling a variety of desserts throughout the holiday season. The Downtown Clubhouse is selling chocolate bourbon pecan tarts, chocolate mint dobos torte, apple strudel and raspberry swirl cheesecake for $25 and pumpkin pie for $15. All orders must be placed three days before desired pick up. Ordering hours are M-F 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Orders can be made through Stephanie at 314-539-4470. The Poolside Cafe at MAC West will be selling pumpkin rolls for $14 or two dozen cookies for $18. The cookie choices are gooey butter, pumpkin, chocolate chip, peanut butter and sugar. The Poolside Cafe needs 24-hour notice on all dessert orders. You can place your order by stopping by the Poolside Cafe when you are at the Club or by calling 314-539-4444 and asking for the Poolside Cafe.

And the winner is...Be sure to tune in to the Buffet next Monday, Nov. 10 for the unveiling of the Sports Personality of the Year. It has been a tight race between two candidates.

Winter Basketball Sign Ups Sign up today for the Winter Basketball League. The winter leagues will tip off in January. The Open League will be on Monday and Tuesday evenings Downtown, beginning Jan. 5. The league is limited to the first 96 players to sign up. The Over 40 League will play on Wednesday evenings at the Downtown Clubhouse beginning Jan. 7. On Thursday nights, MAC West will have an Open League beginning Jan. 8. The deadline for signing up is Dec. 12 or until all the spots are filled. The cost is $60. To sign up, please click here and go to league sign ups.


Sweeny Todd Tickets Still Available Tickets are still available to see Sweeny Todd at the Fox on Saturday, Nov. 15.
