December is a busy time of year for everyone. Between gift shopping and holiday preparations, things are often crazy. Don’t forget about the MAC this holiday season. The Club has a variety of festive holiday events for the whole family to enjoy. Bring the kids to either Clubhouse to visit with Santa, feast on a delicious meal on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day or just stop by to admire the beautiful decorations.... Start your New Year’s resolution early this year and try one of many new fitness classes at both Clubhouses. If you need that extra push to meet your weight loss goals, consider joining in the MAC’s Biggest Loser contest.... Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season by coming to the Club to see some of the biggest names in St. Louis sports at the 39th annual Jack Buck Sports Awards. This year’s list of honorees are sure to provide an entertaining program. Reservations are going quickly, so make yours now before the event sells out! ...When shopping for those on your Christmas list, don’t forget about the MAC. The gift of membership is a gift that keeps on giving year after year. Stogie Club Whiskey Tasting
Start December off with a smokin’ good time at the Stogie Club Irish Whiskey Tasting on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Several varieties of whiskey will be served by festive Irish ladies, and complimentary cigars will be provided. Sample Tullamore Dew, Tullamore Dew 12 yr., Feckin, Feckin Spiced, Tyrconnell and Kilbeggan in the Sportsman’s Club. A feast of Irish fare will be served. Kelly Chase to be Honored at Jack Buck Sports Awards
Blues broadcaster Kelly Chase will be in attendance at the 39th annual Jack Buck Sports Awards on Monday, Dec. 15, to receive the Jack Buck Award, in recognition of enthusiastic and dedicated support of sports in St. Louis. Chase was a popular player whose feisty style endeared himself with fans. After retiring from his playing career, Chase has remained a part of the St. Louis sports community. In 1993, he established the Gateway Locomotives, which teaches the sport of hockey to handicapped individuals. In 1998, Chase received the King Clancy award from the NHL, which is given to the player who has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community. Blues broadcaster Chris Kerber will present Chase with his award.
Other honorees for the evening include Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel, who is the 2008 Sports Personality of the Year, and former coach of the football Cardinals and Rams assistant coach Jim Hanifan, who will receive the Legends Award. Make reservations now for this celebration of St. Louis sports before it sells out. Since Jack Buck helped establish the event in 1970, the MAC has been home to the best sports banquet in St. Louis. The event will be carried live on KMOX Radio and for the first time in the history of the event will air on tape delay on Charter Cable.

Christmas Dinner Dance
Rock around the Christmas tree at the Christmas Dinner Dance on Saturday, Dec. 13. Enjoy a gourmet dinner and music from Josef Polach and St. Louis Express. Whether you have been taking dance lessons this fall or just want to show off some of your moves, the MAC is a great place to spend a Saturday evening out. A cocktail reception (cash bar) will begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served from 7-8:30 p.m. After dinner is over the rest of the night will be left for dancing the night away. The price is $33.50, inclusive, per person for Dinner Dance Club members and $40, inclusive, per person for non-Dinner Dance Club members. Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice. Santa Claus is coming to the MAC! Yes kids, you heard it right, Santa will be bringing his sleigh of goodies to the MAC four times this holiday season. You can visit him at either Clubhouse to let him know what you want for Christmas. Join Santa for dinner at MAC West on Friday, Dec. 5, or 12, or meet him for breakfast at the Downtown Clubhouse on Saturday, Dec. 13, or 20. Downtown Clubhouse Thanksgiving Hours The Downtown Clubhouse will be closed on Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving. The Athletic Department Downtown will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. The Athletic Department will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 29, with regular hours.
New Year's Eve Package Schedule Make plans for your entire New Year's Eve evening with just one phone call. The MAC is making it easy for you by offering a New Year's Eve package deal for two, which includes the New Year's Eve Gala, a hotel room, and the New Orleans Jazz Brunch on New Year's Day. Make your reservations now and take advantage of the package special. Reservations made by Sunday, Nov. 30, will receive the package deal for only $400 per couple. Thanksgiving Day Parade Ride atop the MAC Float at the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown St. Louis. Kids and adults alike are welcome to spread the holiday spirit on Thanksgiving morning. Radio City Christmas Spectacular Tickets are still available to see the Radio City Rockettes at the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on Wednesday, Dec. 17, and Thursday, Dec. 18. The ticket package is $125, per person and includes the premium theater tickets, a delicious three-course dinner and transportation to and from the theater. Winter Basketball Sign Ups Sign up today for the Winter Basketball League. The winter leagues will tip off in January. The Open League will be on Monday and Tuesday evenings Downtown, beginning Jan. 5. The league is limited to the first 96 players to sign up. The Over 40 League will play on Wednesday evenings at the Downtown Clubhouse beginning Jan. 7. On Thursday nights, MAC West will have an Open League beginning Jan. 8.
