A tough battle should ensue between the two teams, and a few surprises will be thrown in including proper English tennis attire, a wooden tennis racket and a “T-2000” aluminum racket. A professional exhibition by Kim Steinmetz and her crew of pros will follow the main event. The match begins at 6:30 p.m., and all members and guests are encouraged to attend. Admission is free. Donations for the 2009 charities, Angels’ Arms, CHADS and Lift For Life Gym, will graciously be accepted. Get Fit While Having Fun
Try Hard-Body Yoga and Fit Camp at the Club
Mix up your normal workout routine with two fun and effective fitness classes at the Downtown Clubhouse. Group fitness classes allow you to work at your own pace and level while enjoying the camaraderie of a social environment. Hard-Body Yoga is held on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. and is unlike your typical yoga class. The class combines strength training with yoga technique to create a strong physique in a one-hour class. During this class you will work every major muscle group several times over without ever having to pick up a single weight. All you need is your body, an open mind and a yoga mat, and you will discover what strong healthy bodies are made of! Fit Camp is held on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Fit Camp gives you a total body workout of all your major muscle groups using free weights, steps and stability balls. The class focuses on strengthening, conditioning, shaping, toning and defining muscles using light to moderate weights with high repetition. Fit Camp is held in the Judo Room on the 10th floor. No reservations are necessary for either class. For more information, call Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434.
