March Cherry Diamond
The March Cherry Diamond features an article on wellness that encourages each member to think about the way they are living their life. Wellness is a balance of various components of lifestyles that allow you to live your life to its fullest potential. The MAC offers a variety of activities and suggestions to help you achieve wellness in your life, including a series of luncheons featuring expert speakers. Now is the time to take charge of your life. One aspect of wellness is the physical aspect of working out and taking care of your body. Both Clubhouses offer a variety of group classes to try and have enthusiastic and knowledgeable personal trainers to assist you. Check out the "Focus on Fitness" section to help get your physical wellness on track... March is filled with events that just about anyone in the family will enjoy. Sports fans, don’t miss legendary SLU coach Rick Majerus share his insights into the NCAA Tournament at Bracketology... Trivia nuts, gather your team together for the MAC Trivia Night sponsored by the Associates. Bring all your general trivia knowledge and help out several local charities in the process... The West Clubhouse will feature Friday Night Lent Buffets until Easter... And who could forget the big furry bunny that children love. The Easter Bunny will make two visits to the MAC this year. Don’t miss out on your chance to see him and enjoy a delicious meal with your family. Be sure to check out everything happening at the Club in this month’s Cherry Diamond.

Test Your Trivia
How well do you know general trivia? Put your skills to the test at MAC Trivia Night sponsored by the Associates on Friday, March 13. Frank Cusumano will be the emcee for the event held at the Downtown Clubhouse. The price to attend is $30, which includes beer, wine, soda, prizes and parking. A silent auction will also be held with great packages to bid on. All proceeds will benefit Loyola Academy, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the MAC Preservation Foundation. Lent Buffet
Lent begins on Wednesday, Feb. 25. If you will be forgoing meat during the Lenten season, MAC West is hosting a special Friday night buffet just for you every Friday during Lent. Bring the whole family to West to spend quality time together while enjoying a delicious meal. The buffet will feature seafood chowder, various soups, Missouri trout almandine, fried Atlantic cod, popcorn shrimp, baked spaghetti and much more. The cost to attend is $18 for adults and $10 for children. For reservations, call 314-539-4441. |
Easter is on its Way!
The Easter Bunny is hopping his way to the MAC on two different occasions. On Friday, April 3, the Bunny will be at West for Family Night. Children will have the chance to visit with the Easter Bunny and have a photo taken. Candy will be handed out to kids following the visit. Egg-shaped cookies will be set out to decorate with pastel icings and other sweet treats. Seatings are at 5:45 and 7:30 p.m. The price to attend is $22.95, plus gratuity for adults and $10.95 plus gratuity for children age 3-12. Children under 3 are free. Easter Brunch will be held at the Downtown Clubhouse on Saturday, April 12. A delicious spread featuring a dizzying array of desserts will be served for all. Kids can visit the Easter Bunny and watch movies and cartoons on a big screen. A petting zoo will be set up in the lobby with lots of furry friends. Kent Miller photography will also be on hand to snap a family photo. Easter Brunch typically sells out, so make your reservations early. The price is $29.95, plus gratuity for adults and $13.95, plus gratuity for children under 12. Children 3 and under are free. Goodfellowship Day
This Saturday, Feb. 28, will celebrate a tradition at the Club that began in the 1930s. For over 70 years members of the Club have been gathering one day a year to celebrate camaraderie, eat free food and sip on cold, foamy beer at Goodfellowship Day. The Athletic Department will open at 9 a.m. for complimentary fitness classes (see the fitness class schedule below). Athletic activities will begin at 10 a.m. Members have the option of competing in friendly competitions. Appropriate events will be broken up according to age, gender and weight. Members who wish not to participate are still invited to come down and get in a good sweat before lunch. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. in the Sportsman’s Club. Swim Team Registration
Three months from today the MAC West pool will open for the season. With the opening of the pool comes the beginning of the swim team season. If your children are interested in joining the MAC Penguin swim team, you must sign them up at one of two registration sessions at the West Poolside Café. Registration will be held on Thursday, March 26, and Tuesday, April 21, from 4-7 p.m. All interested participants must sign up in person. If your swimmer is a little rusty, get them into shape for the season at the Spring Warm-ups. Warm-ups will be held at the Downtown Clubhouse from 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays, April 18, through May 16.
