Good Fun on Good Friday
Rod and Gun Club Heads to Maramec
Mark your calendar now for Good Friday Trout Fishing on Friday, April 10, with the Rod and Gun Club. Don't miss this great opportunity for a one-day trout fishing outing, which ends with a fresh catch feast. The whistle will go off at Maramec Spring Park at 7 a.m. on April 10. The meeting location will be at the commuter lot across from Quick Trip at Highway 44 & 109. Departure will be at 5 a.m. sharp. Please arrive at the lot at 4:45 a.m. to pack vehicles. Starbucks will be read and waiting for the early trip. Leaving bright and early will allow for transportation, getting fishing tags at the park and getting positioned in the stream. The group will fish for a few hours, catch the limit and then tour the fish hatcheries and other sites around the park. Everyone will depart St. James around 11 a.m. The group will arrive at MAC West by 1 p.m. to shower and steam. Lunch and cocktails will be at 1:30 p.m. with plenty of fishing stories to last the afternoon. Chef Mathew Unger at West is very familiar in preparing the fish and does an incredible job. The actual cost for members would be for lunch and beverages purchased at West. Maramec Springs is roughly 95 miles away in Phelps County, eight miles from St. James. Originally the site of the first successful ironworks west of the Mississippi, Maramec is today an exceptionally beautiful spring.
