Spring Dinner Dance
Dine and dance the night away at the Spring Dinner Dance on Friday, April 17, at the Downtown Clubhouse. The elegant Missouri Ballroom will be transformed into a colorful spring time garden with fresh flowers and upbeat tunes from the Chaser’s Fore. In addition to a night of dancing, you will feast on a delicious three-course meal. All members are invited and encouraged to attend, but there is a special benefit to being a Dinner Dance Club member. A discounted price is offered to Dinner Dance Club members to all dinner dance events and reservations are guaranteed. To become a Dinner Dance Club member, contact Courtney Freeman at 314-539-4402. The price to attend the Spring Dinner Dance is $33.50 per person, inclusive for Dinner Dance Club members, and $40 per person, inclusive for non-Dinner Dance Club members. Speaker Series- New Date!
The March Speaker series event originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, with Missouri’s Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder has been moved to Friday, March 27. Kinder, an MAC member, was elected Lieutenant Governor in 2004 and re-elected in 2008. Kinder played key roles in the Missouri Mentor Initiative and the Tour of Missouri Pro Cycling Race. He has been heavily involved in a number of key initiatives including the creation of the Missouri Military Family Relief Fund and the Senior Service Award. Speaker Series events begin with lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at 12:15 p.m. The cost to attend is $20, which includes lunch and parking. To make a reservation, call 314-539-4470. Racquetball Champs Rescheduled
The MAC Racquetball Championships have been moved from Saturday, March 14, to Saturday, April 4, at the West Clubhouse. If you missed your chance to sign up, there is still time! Play will begin at 9 a.m. Olympic format will be used and each player is guaranteed at least two matches. Refreshments and t-shirts will be provided. This tournament is only open to members. Member Guide Book Available Online
Now is the time to start planning your family’s summer activities. School will be out in a couple months, pools will open and your kids will be itching to have fun. The MAC offers summer fun for the whole family at both Clubhouses. The Member Program Guide Book is your one-stop spot to find all the information you need to know for this summer like sports camps, fitness class schedules and swim team information. This guide is a valuable resource that you can refer to throughout the spring and summer. The pages are filled with dates, times and descriptions of all the exciting activities happening at both Clubhouses. Enjoy an active summer at the MAC with the help of the Member Program Guide Book. The Member Guide is available online through the main page of the MAC website. Whether you are in the office or at home and just can’t find the hard copy of the book, you can still find all the information you need.

Swim Team Registration
MAC Penguin swim team registration will be held on Thursday, March 26, and Tuesday, April 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the MAC West Poolside Cafe. All interested participants must sign up. Penguin swimmers, get into shape for the summer swim team with Spring Warm-Ups. Warm-ups will be held at the Downtown Clubhouse from 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays, April 18, thru May 16. Save Time, Register Online
Don’t miss out on another MAC event again. You can register online for most Club sponsored events through the MAC website from any where you have internet access. You will be able to make your reservation for Breakfast with Santa or New Year’s Eve before they sell out. It is easy and fast. Just sign on to the Web site at www.mac-stl.org, then click on Membership, then Member Login. Enter your name and pin number. Once you have provided your login information you can register for events through the main page on the Web site or through the calendar.
Registering for events online does not just save you time, it provides you with a reminder of the event you registered for so don’t forget. After registering online, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a confirmation number and a reminder of the event you have signed up for. The registration site lets you submit the number of guests you are bringing to the event as well and also has a place for comments such as food allergy specifications or seating requests.
You can also register for events you see each week in the Buffet through a link provided in every newsletter. If you are away from the Club on business or vacation, sign up for an event online before it sells out. Don’t miss the chance to have a great time at the Club ever again. New Yoga Session Downtown
A new session of yoga will begin on Monday, March 16, at noon at the Downtown Clubhouse. Yoga tones muscles, prevents pains and mentally strengthens the body. The 8-week yoga session costs $50 for the session or $10 per class. Reservations can be made by calling Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434. |

Soaring To fly above the clouds with only the wind to keep you aloft. No engines. Silence. FYC members will experience soaring as shared by Melvin Burkart, retired Naval officer and Boeing 767 Captain for TWA with extensive international experience. Currently Mel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aviation Science and Technology of Saint Louis University. He is a Master Certified Flight Instructor and FAA Safety Team Lead Representative. Captain Burkart is a member and past governor of the MAC.

Squash Club Championships The MAC Squash Championships will be held April 16-18, for singles and April 30-May 2, for doubles. To sign up email Scott at scott@macsquash.com.

Spring Break Sports Camp If an out of town trip isn’t in your plans for spring break, your family can still feel like it is getting a break from school at MAC West’s Spring Break Sports Camp. Your kids will be psyched to spend the day playing sports and making new friends, while you will get the chance to take some time for yourself for errands and relaxing. The camp is similar to the holiday and summer sports camps. Participants will play tennis, racquetball, soccer, basketball, games and more. The dates are March 13, March 16-20, and March 23-27. The cost is $25, per half day or $50 per day, per child. The full day camp includes lunch. Participants must sign up per day. For more information, contact Eric Saxton at 314-539-4468. Last Chance to Run for the Board The MAC Nominating Committee is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Board of Governors election. The MAC would like you to consider or someone you know as a possible Board candidate. Serving on the Board is the most rewarding experience offered here at the Club, and in the end, you'll receive much more than you give. The information packets, which include a letter of intent, biography and photograph, for running for the board are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 23, to Patti Cundiff.
