Spring Dance Lessons
If you are looking to take up a new activity with your spouse or significant other consider giving ballroom dance lessons a try. A new session of ballroom dance lessons will begin at the Downtown Clubhouse on Tuesday, April 21. It does not matter if you have two left feet or are a dance pro, lessons at the MAC can fit anyone’s skill level. Professional dance instructor Susan Nyemchek will lead the class and breaks the steps down into easy sequences. Lessons will be held five consecutive Tuesdays, April 21, through May 19, from 7-9 p.m. The cost to attend is $50, per person for Dance Club members and $56, per person for non-Dance Club members. MAC Golf Classic
The date of the 2009 MAC Golf Classic is set for Aug. 31, and will be hosted again by the Country Club at the Legends. Last year, the inaugural event attracted more than 100 golfers, helping to raise awareness and more than $50,000 for the MAC Preservation Foundation. Planning has begun to make the second MAC Golf Classic bigger and better. If you would like to help the effort by being a part of the host committee, please contact Past President Rick Lodewyck at 314-446-3502 or lodewyck@cdengineers.com. The MAC Preservation Foundation is chaired by Past President Don Gunn and co-chaired by Past Presidents Gerry Ortbals and Kim Tucci. The Preservation Foundation has commissioned the “Our Club Forever” capital campaign to raise the funds necessary for a major renovation that includes important life safety issues and upgrades to facilities that will position the Downtown MAC Clubhouse to best serve members today and tomorrow.

Be an MAC Legacy
As a member of the Missouri Athletic Club, you have probably acquired hundreds of memories at the Club. As your children or grandchildren grow up around the Club, they too are making memories. If you have a child or grandchild who is approaching 25, encourage them to join the MAC and reap the benefits of the Legacy Program. The Legacy Program gives a member’s children who have outgrown their family’s membership at age 25, the ability to begin their own membership. The program dictates that any direct descendent of an active member in good standing at the Club does not have to pay an initiation fee when joining the Club. For resident members, this can mean a savings of up to $1,000! If you are interested in the Legacy Program or would like more information, please contact Cindy Tangaro in the Downtown membership office at 314-539-4448 or Julie Kueper in the West office at 314-539-4408. Legacy members can join at any time and pay monthly dues determined by age classification. |
