Election Day: A MAC Tradition
Be a part of one of the greatest traditions at the MAC, Election Day. For decades members have gathered in the Downtown lobby to cast their vote and select the next class of the Board of Governors. Don’t forget to get out and vote! On Thursday, May 7, members will again fill the lobby and walk through the famed gauntlet amidst campaign promises and handshakes. All members are encouraged to come to the Club and vote in person on May 7. Members must have their membership card with them to enter the Club on Election Day. Polls will open at the Downtown Clubhouse at 7 a.m. and stay open until 6:30 p.m. A complimentary buffet dinner will be served in the Missouri and Eads Rooms from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Please call 314-539-4470 for reservations. Come share in the camaraderie with fellow members, and help shape the future of the Club. |

Golf Classic
The date of the 2009 MAC Golf Classic is set for Aug. 31, and will be hosted again by the Country Club at the Legends. Last year, the inaugural event attracted more than 100 golfers, helping to raise awareness and more than $50,000 for the MAC Preservation Foundation. Planning has begun to make the second MAC Golf Classic bigger and better. If you would like to help the effort by being a part of the host committee, please contact Past President Rick Lodewyck at 314-446-3502 or lodewyck@cdengineers.com. The MAC Preservation Foundation is chaired by Past President Don Gunn and co-chaired by Past Presidents Gerry Ortbals and Kim Tucci. The Preservation Foundation has commissioned the “Our Club Forever” capital campaign to raise the funds necessary for a major renovation that includes important life safety issues and upgrades to facilities that will position the Downtown MAC Clubhouse to best serve members today and tomorrow. |
Hard-Body Yoga Time Change
Beginning Monday, May 4, Hard-Body Yoga will be held at 5:45 p.m. (instead of 5:30 p.m.). Hard-Body Yoga is unlike your typical yoga class. The class combines strength training with yoga technique to create a strong physique in a one-hour class. During this class you will work every major muscle group several times over without ever having to pick up a single weight. All you need is your body, an open mind and a yoga mat, and you will discover what strong healthy bodies are made of! No reservations are necessary. For more information, contact Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434. |
