Fourth Festivities at the MAC
Show your patriotism and celebrate the 4th of July at the MAC. There are a variety of activities happening at the Club for everyone in the family to enjoy...
- On Friday, July 3, bring the whole family down to enjoy the Fair St. Louis activities. The Downtown Clubhouse will have children's activities from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Art Lounge. Drop your kids off and enjoy the activities Downtown. There will be a face painter, movies and other children's activities. The minimum age is 5. Families will only be able to participate with reservations. Call Sharon Gardner for details at 314-539-4480.
- Grab a bite to eat and then head out the front door of the Clubhouse to get one of the best seats in town to watch the VP Parade. A special section will be blocked off exclusively for MAC members and their guests. NEW...This year the Stars and Stripes Brunch in the Missouri Room. The buffet will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. The cost for adults is $16.95. Children age 3-12 are $13.95. Call 314-539-4470 for reservations.
- Lunch will also be available in the Jack Buck Grille from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you plan on spending the day downtown for all the 4th festivities, have dinner at the Downtown Clubhouse in the Sportsman’s Club. There is a dinner buffet from 5-8 p.m. Breakfast and dinner reservations are suggested. Call 314-539-4470 for reservations.
- The Downtown Clubhouse has rooms available over 4th of July weekend. Beat the crowd and stay downtown so you can get the best seat in the house for the VP Parade. For reservations, call 314-231-7220
- If you’re looking for a cooler way to celebrate the 4th, suit up and head to West for the 4th of July Pool Party. There will be games and prizes for the kids, plus plenty of food and beverages for all. The pool party will be from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The cost for adults is $20 and for children age 3-12 is $12. Your All-Star Game Headquarters
The MAC is your All-Star Game headquarters. For the first time since 1966, baseball’s best city will host Major League’s All-Star game. Before heading to the ballpark, stop by the MAC for a great meal and a cool, refreshing beverage. If you are attending FanFest at America’s Center, make sure you drop by the Club for a bite to eat. The Jack Buck Grille will be open throughout FanFest (July 10-14), including Sunday, July 12. On Monday evening, June 13, stop in the Sportsman’s Club for a delicious dinner buffet prior to the Home Run Hitting Contest. On Tuesday, July 14, the Missouri Room will serve up a delicious Buffet.

Aviation Club Upcoming Events
On Tuesday, July 7, the Aviation Club will meet at MAC West for their monthly membership meeting. The featured speaker will be Peter Sudekum, President of St. Louis Aircraft Sales. Peter will discuss the ABCs of aircraft ownership. He will give a brief overview of the current general aviation market, buying and selling an aircraft today and critical aspects of aircraft ownership. The MAC Aviation Club hosts a membership meeting on the first Tuesday of the month. Odd months there will be a dinner meeting with a guest speaker at MAC West from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Even Months there will be a lunch meeting at the Downtown Clubhouse from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Aviation Club also promotes attending periodic flight safety seminars as a group.  Quarterly, the Aviation Club organizes a flying event to various locations and organizes trips to interesting destinations and aviation events like attending Oshkosh and Sun-n-Fun as a group.

The MAC Golf Classic
Get out and hit the links with your fellow members while supporting a great Club cause, the MAC Preservation Foundation, at the MAC Golf Classic. This year’s Golf Classic date is set for Aug. 31, and will be hosted again by the Country Club at the Legends. Last year, the inaugural event attracted more than 100 golfers, helping to raise awareness and more than $50,000 for the MAC Preservation Foundation. The MAC Preservation Foundation is chaired by Past President Don Gunn and co-chaired by Past Presidents Gerry Ortbals and Kim Tucci. The Preservation Foundation has commissioned the “Our Club Forever” capital campaign to raise the funds necessary for a major renovation that includes important life safety issues and upgrades to facilities that will position the Downtown MAC Clubhouse to best serve members today and tomorrow. Cardinals Dining Specials and Tickets
The Cardinals are returning to town this week with a four-game home series against the San Francisco Giants. Before heading to the ball game, stop by your Club for a delicious meal and ice cold beverages. The Jack Buck Grille will feature a Cardinals dining special Monday, June 27 through Thursday, July 2. Enjoy an apple wood smoked Alaskan wild caught Salmon salad with Port wine vinaigrette for just $12.

If you are looking to go to a few games this season, the MAC has tickets available throughout the season. There are 2 seats available in section 132, Row J, Seats 16 & 17. Stay Summer Fit
Keep your body looking fit and in shape this summer with a weekly tune-up class, Fit Camp. The class, offered Wednesday evenings at the Downtown Clubhouse, strengthens, conditions, shapes, tones and defines muscles using light to moderate weights with high repetitions. Fit Camp appeals to men and women from beginners to the conditioned athlete and will include the use of free weights, steps, and stability balls to work the major muscle groups in the body.  If you are interested in giving Fit Camp a try, no reservations are necessary. Fit Camp is held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Judo Room. Contact Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434 for more information.
