New Reciprocal Agreement
The MAC has entered into a new reciprocal agreement with the Panther Creek Country Club of Springfield, Illinois. You can now play the 18-hole Hale Irwin designed golf course, which is home of the LPGA State Farm Classic, practice on the best practice facilities in central Illinois and dine at the Club. Under the new agreement, MAC members can play at Panther Creek five times during the year. All charges for greens fees, cart rentals, dining and bar will be billed to your MAC account. Advanced reservations are required for dining and golf. Twenty-four hours advance notice is required through Club manager Larry Thompson for tee times. Greens fees are $45 per person for 18-holes and $25 per person for 9-holes. Cart fees are $17 per person for 18-holes and $10 per person for 9-holes. Members may play the course after noon on Mondays and any time on Tuesdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, the course is ladies only between 7:30-9:30 a.m., open play is available after 9:30 a.m. On Thursdays, the course is men only from noon-3 p.m. Open play is available at all other times. Border War Showdown
On Saturday, Sept. 5, two of the biggest rivals in college football will face off at the Edward Jones Dome. Mizzou and Illinois fans will fill the streets of St. Louis sporting their black and gold and orange and blue. Whether you support the Tigers or the Fighting Illini, all are welcome to attend the MAC buffet lunch prior to the game. Fill up on a delicious spread before heading to the Dome. MAC Sprint Triathlon
Swim, bike and run for fun at the second annual MAC Sprint Triathlon. On Saturday, Sept. 12, all members who enjoy an athletic challenge are invited to participate in the triathlon at MAC West. The race consists of a 300-yard swim, 12-mile bike and a 3-mile run. The transition area will open at 6:30 a.m. A mandatory safety briefing will be held at 7 a.m., and the race will begin at 7:30 a.m. Contact Tonia Dieteman to register at 314-539-4453. The deadline to register is Wednesday, Sept. 9. All members 16 and older are welcome to participate. Members who are participating are allowed to bring one guest to compete.

Jack Buck Grille Dining Promotions
The Jack Buck Grille is currently closed for renovations. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the Grille will re-open with a new menu, new look and new hours. The Grille will be open for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5-9 p.m. Bar service and a bar menu will be available Monday through Saturday from 2-11 p.m. Because of these changes, the Sportman’s Club will also have different hours. The Sportsman’s Club will now be serving breakfast and lunch. Breakfast will be served from 7-10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 8-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, which will be a continental only. Lunch is served Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Make your reservations now to dine in the newly renovated Grille, and indulge in a delicious meal at a tremendous value during the month of October. Throughout the month of October, the Grille will offer dining specials on Friday and Saturday evenings. The weekend of October 2 and 3, the Grille will have a pri fix menu, three courses for $30. Take Home the MAC President's Cup
Tee off against your fellow members at the MAC President’s Cup Golf Championships at Glen Echo Country Club. The qualifying round of this year’s tournament will be held on Friday, Sept. 11. All Club members are welcome to participate. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. There will be a masters division (50+) and an open division. Entry fees are MAC greens fees for Glen Echo. The top four players in each division at the end of the qualifying day will have match play until a winner is determined. The winner will have their name placed on the President’s Cup, which is displayed in the Sportsman’s Club. Call the Glen Echo Pro Shop to sign-up at 314-383-1500. Table Tennis Tourney
The West Clubhouse is hosting the 2009 St. Louis Gateway Open Two-Star Table Tennis Tournament, Sept. 12-13. All MAC members are invited to participate in the Novice Singles Event at no charge on Sunday, Sept. 13. There will be an exhibition/clinic held on Friday, Sept. 11, in the multi-sport gym. Fall Ballroom Dance Lessons
Show your skills on the dance floor with ballroom dance lessons at the MAC. Beginning to advanced dancers are invited to perfect their moves every Tuesday for five weeks in the Missouri Room. Professional ballroom dance instructor Lucy Fitzgerald will teach the five-week course every Tuesday from Sept. 22 to Oct. 20. The class, from 7 to 9:25 p.m., will feature the most popular ballroom dances. The program has been especially designed for both couples and singles. Guests are welcome. The total price for the five-week course is $50 per person, inclusive, for Dance Club members and $56 for non-members. Price includes parking and lessons. STEPtember The Downtown Clubhouse is encouraging all members to use the stepper machines as part of their workout routine throughout September. To promote this great exercise, the Downtown Athletic department will be holding a friendly competition, STEPtember. After finishing your step workout on one of the step machines, turn in your name, club number, date and miles stepped that day to the Athletic Desk. At the end of the month, the person who has stepped the most miles on one of the step machines will be declared the winner. For more information, contact Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434. No reservations are necessary, just call for more info. There is no charge to participate.
Indoor Swim Lessons Private and semi-private swimming lessons will be available at the Downtown pool throughout the winter on Sunday afternoons.
