Charitable Society for Children Happy Hour at MAC West
The Charitable Society for Children would like to thank all contributors at a business to business happy hour on Friday, Oct. 2, at MAC West. If you are a CSC member or would like to join, feel free to stop by between 5:30-7 p.m. There will be $2 bottled beer and $3 well drinks along with appetizers. This is a great opportunity to meet other members involved in the CSC. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the Charitable Society for Children. Please call Sarah to make a reservation at 314-539-4490.

The Charitable Society for Children is now taking nominations for the three charities that will be supported by the MAC in 2010. The deadline for nominations is Sunday, Nov. 1. For a charity to be considered it must be a local charity, non-denominational, family oriented with an emphasis on service to children, and for human welfare. Nominations can be emailed to CSC Chairman Sam Hopmeier at hopmeier@aol.com. Along with the charity name, please provide a one-page fact sheet with information about the charity.

Show off your talent in the pumpkin carving contest. Bring in a pre-carved pumpkin, and the winning family gets their dinner free. Don’t forget to decorate the trunk of your car because ghosts will be floating from car to car looking for treats. Prizes will be given for the best decorated car. For reservations, please call 314-539-4490. The cost is $12 for adults and $8 for children under age 12. Children under 3 are free. Or you can register online. Join the Kids Club at MAC West
By now your kids are probably sick of the daily grind of school. Now they have something to look forward to at the MAC. A new MAC Kids Club will offer fun for children throughout the year. Being a part of the group gives kids access to many fun events at no charge. Events will include free smoothies on your birthday, report card rewards, make your own pizza bars, field days and many more. Kids Club members will also receive a quarterly newsletter listing birthdays, upcoming events, games and more. Registration begins Oct. 1. To sign up, contact Sarah Asinger at 314-539-4490.
New Yoga Session
Strengthen your body and work muscles you’ve never worked before while relaxing your mind during a noon yoga session. A new noon session is starting up Monday, Oct. 12, at the Downtown Clubhouse. This class is not just for women. Men can find a tremendous benefit of yoga as well. Yoga is one of the few physical activities that has a "de-compacting" effect on the body which is essential to counter the effects of gravity associated with activities such as running or jogging. It also provides needed relief to such asymmetric activities as racquet sports and golf which torque the spine in only one direction. The 8-week yoga session is held on Mondays and costs $50 for the session or $10 per class. Reservations can be made by calling Rick Schneider at 314-539-4434.

You may also meet at the Restaurant. Please RSVP by Saturday, Oct. 10. On Thursday, Nov. 12, travel to St. Charles and enjoy lunch at “Tony’s On Main Street” and shopping.  Carpool from MAC West at 9:30 a.m. and leave St. Charles by 2:30 p.m. Feel free to meet us on Main Street around 10 a.m. for shopping before lunch or meet us just for lunch.  Please RSVP by Monday, Nov. 2.
