Everyone who lives in the St. Louis region is proud of our nationally recognized symbol, The Arch. But how much do we really know about it? Speaker Bob Moore knows plenty about it and is ready to share. Bob is a public historian for the National Park Service at Jefferson National Expansion Memorial – comprised of the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse. The National Park Service recently announced plans to hold a competition for updating the Arch grounds, improvements that could include new museum and restaurant spaces and easier access from downtown St. Louis. A 25-year veteran of the NPS, Bob has been at the Arch since 1991. He is the author of eight books, including The Gateway Arch: An Architectural Dream (2005 – the 40th anniversary).
