Trouble-Free Turkey Day
If you have not settled your Thanksgiving plans, there is still time to make a reservation at the MAC. Don’t worry about shopping, preparing or cleaning up this Thanksgiving. Let the Club do the work for you, so you can enjoy time with family and friends. The Downtown Clubhouse will host a Thanksgiving Buffet on Thursday, Nov. 26. The buffet will feature all of your Thanksgiving favorites like stuffing, cranberry sauce, creamy mashed potatoes and a traditional turkey.

If you just can’t get enough turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, the West Clubhouse is hosting a Thanksgiving Brunch on Sunday, Nov. 29. The brunch will feature cranberry scones, bread pudding and prime rib.

Christmas Dinner Dance

Wainwright to Attend Jack Buck Awards
The MAC 2009 Sports Personality of the Year winner Adam Wainwright is confirmed to attend this year’s Jack Buck Awards on Thursday, Dec. 17. Wainwright is the 17th Cardinal to win the awards. Other award recipients include St. Louis Browns first baseman Roy Sievers, who will receive the “Legends” Award. St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz will receive the Burnes/Broeg Award. Saint Louis University volleyball coach Anne Kordes will receive the Carl O. Bauer Award for making her mark in amateur athletics. Make reservations now for this celebration of St. Louis sports before it sells out. Since Jack Buck helped establish  the event in 1970, the MAC has been home to the best sports banquet in St. Louis.

Associates Thanksgiving Happy Hour
Before heading out for one of the best nights out in St. Louis, stop at the MAC and have a few drinks at the Associates Happy Hour. The night before Thanksgiving is known as one of the biggest bar nights of the year. On Wednesday, Nov. 25, the Associates will host another happy hour in the Sportsman’s Club at the Downtown Clubhouse. Even if you have other plans later in the evening, you can still swing by the happy hour. There will be $1 draft beers, $2 bottles and $3 well drinks. All are welcome to begin their holiday weekend at the MAC.

CWC Holiday Social
Celebrate the holiday season with your fellow members at a holiday social in the Downtown Art Lounge. The Clubs Within the Club are sponsoring this holiday happy hour on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Kid Fun Fitness
Promote a healthy family lifestyle by introducing your children to healthy living in a fun atmosphere. The West Clubhouse will off Kids Fun Fitness every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. This free one-hour session includes sports, kickball, games challenges and nutritional games. Each week will be something different hosted by Coach Eric Saxton and his staff. The goal of KFF is to have your kids experienced all the necessary tips of living a nutritional, fun and healthy life. 6th Annual Holiday Wine Tasting and Sale at MAC West
Stock up with high quality wines for the holiday season at the 6th annual Wine Society Holiday Wine Tasting and Sale. On Sunday, Dec. 6, the West Dining room will have tables full of different varietals for sale at terrific values to you. All wines for the sale will be sold at wholesale costs. While browsing the sale, be sure to pick up several bottles for the wine enthusiasts on your list, or if you are attending a holiday party, grab a bottle to present to your gracious host. Wine samples and light appetizers will be provided.

Everyone who lives in the St. Louis region is proud of our nationally recognized symbol, The Arch. But how much do we really know about it? Speaker Bob Moore knows plenty about it and is ready to share. Bob is a public historian for the National Park Service at Jefferson National Expansion Memorial – comprised of the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse. The National Park Service recently announced plans to hold a competition for updating the Arch grounds, improvements that could include new museum and restaurant spaces and easier access from downtown St. Louis. A 25-year veteran of the NPS, Bob has been at the Arch since 1991. He is the author of eight books, including The Gateway Arch: An Architectural Dream (2005 – the 40th anniversary).

Get a Haircut and a Shine
Don Cross will be available for shoe shines in the Barber Shop, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - noon. After noon, shoe shines are available in the Athletic Department.

Holiday Sports Camp The West Clubhouse is hosting a youth holiday sports camp. The camp will be held on Dec. 21-31. There is a morning session from 9 a.m. to noon, an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. or an all day session from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., which includes lunch. The price is $25, per child for a half day or $50 per child for a full day. Participants must sign up per day. You can register online at here, or call Coach Eric Saxton at 314-539-4468.


Winter Basketball League Sign Ups Winter Basketball League signs ups have begun. The Downtown League will begin the week of Jan. 4. The West League will be played on Thursday nights beginning Jan. 7. You can sign up for either or both leagues through the MAC Web site. Click here to sign up. The deadline to sign up is Dec. 13. Downtown Holiday Hours The Downtown Athletic Department will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26. The entire Downtown Clubhouse, including the Athletic Department, will be closed on Friday, Nov. 27.


Kids Club Coloring Contest The MAC Kids Club is holding a coloring contest throughout the month of December. Pick up a coloring page from the Stan Musial Grille and return it to the West Catering Office with your full name by Dec. 21. The winner will be announced on Dec. 30.
