Cigars with Cognac
Spend an evening relaxing with friends in the Sportsman’s Club Downtown at the Cigars with Cognac evening on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The evening will be a nice break during the hustle and bustle of the holiday seasons. The Stogie Club is hosting the cigar evening. Complimentary cigars will be provided. Two cognacs will be available for tasting. The cognacs are Remy Martin Cognac and Hennessy Cognac. Raffle prizes will be given.

Jack Buck Awards
The MAC 2009 Sports Personality of the Year winner Adam Wainwright is confirmed to attend this year’s Jack Buck Awards on Thursday, Dec. 17. Wainwright is the 17th Cardinal to win the awards. General Manager John Mozeliak will present the award to Wainwright. Other award recipients include St. Louis Browns first baseman Roy Sievers, who will receive the “Legends” Award. St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz will receive the Burnes/Broeg Award. Saint Louis University volleyball coach Anne Kordes will receive the Carl O. Bauer Award for making her mark in amateur athletics. Make reservations now for this celebration of St. Louis sports before it sells out. Since Jack Buck helped establish the event in 1970, the MAC has been home to the best sports banquet in St. Louis. |

The Greatest St. Louis has to Offer Charity Event
Join members of the Charitable Society for Children as well as contributors to the annual donation at an evening to highlight how your Club gives back to the local community. On Wednesday, Jan. 13, the Charitable Society for Children will host “The Greatest St. Louis has to Offer” event at the Downtown Clubhouse. Checks will be given to the 2009 charities supported by the MAC: Angels’ Arms, CHADS and Lift for Life. The CSC will also announce the 2010 charities that the CSC will be supporting. A special event program will also be presented. Watch the Buffet e-newsletter for the announcement of the special event program. KMOX radio personality Charlie Brennan will serve as the emcee. Raffle prizes will be given throughout the evening. All MAC members and their guests are welcome to attend. Bring a non-member friend to show them the wonderful things the Club is doing for the community. |

Rock Around the Christmas Tree

6th Annual Holiday Wine Tasting and Sale at MAC West
Stock up with high quality wines for the holiday season at the 6th annual Wine Society Holiday Wine Tasting and Sale. On Sunday, Dec. 6, the West Dining room will have tables full of different varietals for sale at terrific values to you. All wines for the sale will be sold at wholesale costs. While browsing the sale, be sure to pick up several bottles for the wine enthusiasts on your list, or if you are attending a holiday party, grab a bottle to present to your gracious host. Wine samples and light appetizers will be provided. |

Holiday Sports Camps
Avoid complaints of boredom from your children this winter break by signing them up for the Holiday Sports Camps at MAC West. They will enjoy a day of physical activity and fun, and you can have some time to yourself to finish up shopping, prep for Christmas dinner or return gifts after the holidays are over. The camps will be held Monday, Dec. 21, through Thursday, Dec. 31, (excluding Dec. 25). Your child can choose to participate in the morning session from 9 a.m. to noon, the afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. or the all day session from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., which includes lunch. Kids Fun Fitness at MAC West
Introduce your children to a healthy lifestyle in a fun environment. The West Club is helping you promote a healthy family lifestyle with Kids Fun Fitness every Thursday at 5 p.m. This free one-hour session includes sports, kickball, games challenges and nutritional games. Each week will be something different hosted by Coach Eric Saxton and his staff. The goal of KFF is to have your kids experienced all the necessary tips of living a nutritional, fun and healthy life. December Dining Specials After nearly two years of construction, the new Highway 40 will soon open and make travel between the Downtown and West Clubhouses easier than ever. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Missouri Athletic Club has planned several member appreciation dining specials. Thursday, Friday, Saturday Dec. 3, 4, 5 & 10, 11, 12 in the Jack Buck Grille the special will be buy one entree; get one free. All December the Sportsman's Club lunch buffet will be only $9.95 ($15.95 value).
Get a Haircut and a Shine
Don Cross will be available for shoe shines in the Barber Shop, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - noon. After noon, shoe shines are available in the Athletic Department.

Winter Basketball League Sign Ups Winter Basketball League signs ups have begun. The Downtown League will begin the week of Jan. 4. The West League will be played on Thursday nights beginning Jan. 7. You can sign up for either or both leagues through the MAC Web site. Click here to sign up. The deadline to sign up is Dec. 13.
