Fitness for the New Year
The Club is helping you jump start your New Year’s Resolution by offering five new fitness classes that start right after you ring in 2010. Both Clubhouses offer a variety of classes at various days and times, so you can always find something to fit in your schedule. All classes are taught by highly knowledgeable fitness instructors. The new classes being offered will keep your workouts fun and different. They include: Self-Defense, Kickboxing, Tai Chi, Zumba and Mat Pilates. Get away from your typical treadmill workout and mix things up with a new class one or two days a week. Group fitness classes are great motivation and make working out fun. Self Defense
Beginning Thursday, Jan. 7
Thursdays, 6:30 p.m.
$80 for members, $105 non-members.
MAC West
This four-week course will teach you the fundamentals of striking, grappling and disarming in order to protect yourself. You will learn to improve your awareness to foresee a threat and avoid conflict.
Kickboxing
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 12
Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m.
No charge for Diamond Club members, $6/class all other members
MAC West
Kickboxing is a hard core cardio workout that will get you toned. You will also learn the basics of self-defense and striking.
Tai Chi
Beginning Monday, Jan. 18
Mondays, 11:30 a.m.
$14 per class
MAC West
Tai Chi is a low impact workout, which makes it suitable for any age. Tai Chi will help you to reduce stress, improve balance, flexibility and muscle strength while lowering your blood pressure, increasing your range of motion and having overall feelings of well-being.
Zumba
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19
Tuesdays, 5:45 p.m.
Downtown
Ditch the workout, join the party! Zumba is the latest fitness trend to hit, and people can’t seem to get enough of it. Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms and tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout.
Mat Pilates
Beginning Wednesday, Jan 20
Wednesdays, noon
$10 per class or $50 for the 8-week session
Downtown
Mat Pilates will work your powerhouse, back, legs and arms by using exercises that will help lengthen your muscles as they strengthen. Pilates will improve your core strength, flexibility, coordination and muscle control.
