Good Fellowship Day Party

On Saturday, Feb. 20, the MAC will host its annual Good Fellowship Day Party at the Downtown Clubhouse, a tradition that members have been gathering for since the 1930s. This year’s Good Fellowship Day will feature several athletic competitions as well as free fitness classes. Events will include a closest-to-the-pin contest, rowing, bench press, swimming and basketball. The Pro Shop will also be having a sale. If you are a new member or have never come out for this celebration before, don’t miss out. The MAC encourages you to come out and participate, no matter your fitness level. 5th Annual MAC Boxing Championships

Boxing has a long standing tradition at the Club. In recent years, the popularity of the sport has resurged. Fight fans fill the Missouri Room each February to catch the exciting action. This year’s bouts will not disappoint. Make plans now to attend the 5th Annual MAC Boxing Championships on Thursday, Feb. 25. Top amateur boxers from around the area will square off in bouts in various weight divisions. Hungry fight fans will feast on a delicious steak dinner and enjoy complimentary cigars. Lunch and Tour Book Exchange
The Lunch and Tour Group is hosting a book exchange and lunch buffet at MAC West on Friday, Jan. 29. Bring a book or books to exchange with your fellow members. Curling up with a new book is the perfect way to spend a winter afternoon. You are also welcome to just come for lunch, which will begin at noon. A full lunch buffet is offered for $12.95. A half buffet with soups, salads and dessert is only $9.95. All members are welcome and invited to bring guests. Beat the winter blues with an evening out among friends at the Stogie Club Scotch Tasting on Wednesday, Feb. 10. The evening will include a tasting of several premium scotches. Saturday Spinning
Stick with your New Year’s fitness goals with Saturday morning spinning classes. The Downtown Clubhouse is again offering a spinning class on several Saturdays a month. The class is from 9 to 10 a.m. Classes will be held Jan. 23, Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 6 and March 20. Pedal your way to a more fit you in 2010, join the Saturday morning spin class. That's why the Associates are hosting a happy hour on Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Jack Buck Grille at the Downtown Clubhouse. Charity Tennis Event

Get your front row seat for the court battle of the year. On Friday, Feb. 26, Past President Scott Engelbrecht and Past Governor Margaret May will take on Governor Jim McMullin and his wife, Mina at the MAC Charitable Society for Children Battle of the Board. In addition to the main event, an exhibition game will be played between Gregg Hammann and Rich Striler and MAC Pros Scott Stutz and Mac McDonald. The fourth annual tennis exhibition will raise money for the 2010 benefiting charities: Friends of Kids with Cancer, Guardian Angel Settlement Association and Good Shepard School for Children. Representatives from the three charities will be on hand to share information and stories about the charities.
All members and their guests are welcome to attend. Admission is free. Donations for the 2010 charities will graciously be accepted. |

New Massage Hours
Treat yourself to an hour of bliss and relaxation with a massage with Downtown Massage Therapist Mandy Puett. Mandy now has extended hours. She has availability on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 7 pm. of the United States Naval Academy. Daven attended the USN Submarine School and then served
aboard several subs - USS Irex (SS 482); USS Harder (SS 568); Weapons Officer - USS Alexander
Hamilton (SSBN 617); and built the USS Batfish (SSN 681) at Electric Boat, Groton, CN. He is Co-
Chair of the USS Missouri (SSN 780) Commissioning Committee. Mr. Anderson is also an
accomplished artist and his painting, “A Rainy November Day at Arlington” is now a permanent
part of the MAC/MHC and is displayed in the Veterans Room.

Jan. Dining Specials The Jack Buck Grille is featuring a Prime Rib Special Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Jan. 30. Casa Loma Ballroom Outing Join the Dinner Dance Club for an evening at Casa Loma Ballroom on Friday, Jan. 22. The group will meet at the Club for a delicious dinner in the Jack Buck Grille. Attention All Swimmers The Club needs your help to compete in the 2010 NACAD Great Lakes Swim. Clubs from around the country will be competing to see which Club's members can swim the most yards. The competition will begin on Monday, Feb. 1, and will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 28. Help show the country that your Club is the best.
